Perched high amongst the trees of the rain forest, this cutting edge architect designed one bedroom home is newly constructed of Corten steel and glass. It offers a five star experience in the most accessible and beautiful area of the Byron hinterland, just 8 minutes from the beaches and restaurants of Byron Bay. This is special - sweeping views of the Bay, Aesop bath and shower products, French linen sheets, a perfectly tuned coffee machine and a bottle of the finest Prosecco.
This stand alone house is a new, architecturally designed steel and glass structure. Floor to ceiling glass windows look out into the rainforest canopy, but as your gaze sweeps north, out to the ocean. At 70 sq metres this is a spacious place. Timber interiors give warmth. The space offers a large deck with BBQ, large kitchen with espresso machine, dining area, lounge room, bathroom and bedroom. The furniture is eclectic - sourced from Shanghai, Bali and locally. The bathroom is chic and well appointed. There is a king size bed (that can be converted into two singles if desired) in the bedroom and sofa bed that sleeps one adult comfortably, two very snuggly, in the lounge room.
Guests have access to internet, reverse cycle A/C, TV, kitchen, washer/drier,m and BBQ. The bathroom offers Aesop products. Beds have French linen sheets and a silk doona. A bottle of wine sits chilled in the fridge.
Guests have a private, separate driveway that leads straight to a parking bay at the back of the treehouse. From there it is a private 5 metre walk to the front door.
Interaction with guests
Guests have complete privacy, although someone is generally nearby if help is needed.
Other things to note
The Treehouse sits on a 10 acre property that, over the past 20 years, has been fully rehabilitated. 8000 trees have been planted. In The Teeehouse you are looking into the canopy of this planting, with trees now 30 metres plus high. The land is renewing, the birds are back, the bush turkey has returned. A grassy track leads through the trees and a walk before a surf is a treat.
No parties. Music and noise to be dialled down by 10pm.
My wife and I live just outside of Byron Bay on 10 acres. We have planted a rainforest there. We enjoy working on the block, getting down to the beach for a walk and a surf and staying fit and healthy. We have lived around the world for half our working lives and have settled down now in Byron - bliss.
