Romantic 1 bedroom slab timber cabin overlooking the Wollombi Brook and rural paddocks. Offering self-cater accommodation for a couple on the edge of Wollombi Village. We are a popular choice for wedding guests with a 6 minute drive to Redleaf, Mystwood and Woodhouse and 10 minutes to Stonehurst. Great base for exploring the Hunter vineyards, attending concerts, bushwalking or just relaxing and watching cows wander past.
The space
A self-contained, one bedroom, slab-timber cabin set along side the Wollombi Brook and overlooking paddocks of grazing cattle and a working farm. All on 1 level for easy access (upstairs is locked off for storage). With a wide verandah on one side flowing onto a paved entertaining space, the scenery provides the perfect backdrop for outdoor relaxation and entertaining.
Furnished to a high standard with luxurious stone floors throughout. Oversized bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. Gorgeous rural views from every room.
The cabin includes:
- One bedroom with queen size bed, luxury cotton bedding, electric blankets (for the cooler months).
- Oversized bathroom with bath and seperate shower, basic toiletries.
- Large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge room
- Slow combustion wood fire with firewood supplied in winter.
We supply enough firewood and kindling for 1 indoor fire per night of stay. If you would like more we suggest bringing a bag with you and they are available to purchase from Bunnings or petrol stations.
- Reverse cycle air conditioning in the open living space. Portable electric heater for bedroom. Dual control electric blanket.

The cabin is best suited to a couple. The bed doesn’t split and it’s not the nicest experience for extra guests to be sleeping on the cold stone floor
No smoking indoors. Please be respectful of all of the furniture and accessories that we've lovingly collected. Everything in the house is very special to us.
All the building materials and almost all of the furniture and decorating items were sourced second hand.
Breakfast hampers are currently unavailable as we are based offsite for the short term.
Guest access
Cowboy's is located on our private estate with a shared driveway to the cabin. The driveway is not to be blocked at any time.
Whilst it is close to our family home (which we sometimes rent out) we respect your privacy at all times. Please feel free to contact us anytime.
Other things to note
We are available for 1 night bookings mid-week and on some occasions when a Friday or Saturday night is available. Calendar will be updated regularly.
Wifi now available. Wollombi has 4G mobile coverage, great for Telstra and Optus customers NOT GREAT for Vodafone.
Television has Google TV with Netflix, Stan, Amazon, Nine, iview etc. your own login will be required for certain options.
If you are staying for a concert in Pokolbin, Rover Coaches transport service collect and drop at Wollombi Village. Please check their website for details.
We can recommend wine tours for Wollombi, Broke, Mt View, Pokolbin and Lovedale and local tour operators will also pick up from the cabin. Grape Experience are our preferred and recommended supplier.
Should you require a transport home from a special event or dinner this can also be arranged, in advance, with local service providers.
Wollombi Markets are held on the Monday of long weekends four times a year in the cattle sale yards.
There are to be no events, commercial photography or extra guests to the property without permission from the Host before booking is made.
Cowboys Cabin is not registered as a wedding or events venue. If you are organizing a party, no matter how small, we are not the right place to book.
Pets are considered upon request and at an additional charge of $50 per stay.
FIREWOOD and kindling is supplied seasonally (end May to end August) enough for 1 fire per night of stay. We recommend bringing extra with you. Bunnings and petrol stations supply bags of hardwood for approx $18 each.
