The space
Krushka's is an historic miners cottage which has been beautifully renovated. All the character features of the home have been retained, with modern conveniences included – wi-fi, heat pump, dishwasher, USB powerpoints, washing machine, and clothes dryer. The bathroom has a shower, bath, vanity and underfloor heating; the toilet is in a separate room off the laundry.
For riders, there is a convenient bike wash/stand and a secure bike & gear storage shed. The bike shed has charging for electric bikes and vehicles.
Krushka’s is ideally located on Main St so you are straight out to the trails and easy home after a big day riding. Krushka's is proud to be Blue Derby Endorsed. Staying here means you are contributing funds towards trail maintenance.
Krushka's is equipped with everything you need to enjoy life outdoors with outdoor dining table, BBQ and fire pit. Pack a picnic basket to take while exploring the NE - fossicking for sapphires, trout fishing, swimming, exploring the rainforest and old mining sites, or enjoying visits to some of Tasmania’s best cafes, vineyards, breweries and distilleries. One of Tasmania's iconic lolly shops is the Derby Lolly Shop and Post Office.
After outdoor adventures, feel welcomed home to your cosy cottage. The kitchen is well equipped for everything you need for home cooked meals. You are welcome to harvest seasonal fresh produce and herbs from the garden at Krushka's.
Enjoy family time with books and games. Please note there is no TV, but free Wi-Fi means you can still stream shows. If you want to simply chill after a big day riding, there is a couch in the living room plus bean bags to move where you wish.
There are three charming bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 guests.
The Cascade bedroom features unique vintage wallpaper and has a queen bed. This room is the original miner's cottage, traditionally built and overlooking the development of Derby as a booming mining town.
The Weld bedroom has a double bed and is strung with fairy lights. It is styled with some hints of blue. The same hints of blue entice many to the Weld River looking for sapphires.
The Frome bedroom has a king single bed and a single bed, and plenty of room to relax and play board games sitting on the bean bags. There are adventures to be had up the Frome Valley - with fishing at the dam and riding the backroads to Weldborough.
All beds have electric blankets, comfortable mattresses, cosy doonas and fresh white linen.
If you need a "work from home" space, there is a dedicated small desk and adjacent power point.
Krushka's is set up with everything you need for a relaxing stay in one of the world's best mountain biking and outdoor destinations!
Guest access
You have the entire property and garden to enjoy.
There are two flat off-street parking spaces. Please do not park on the grass for safety reasons.
If you need additional parking, there is a flat space up the hill or on Main Street.
Other things to note
There are steps, which are unsuitable for guests with mobility restrictions. The garden is unfenced to the road, so please watch toddlers and young children carefully.
