Lakehouse Farm is a secluded rural property of 25 hectares (63 acres) situated at Main Ridge (between Red Hill & Flinders) on the iconic Mornington Peninsula, seventy minutes drive from Melbourne.
The property has beautiful views over the rolling hills and of our large lake. The dwellings are located down a long driveway away from the main road, so it is very quiet and private.
We are located close to bay beaches, surf beaches, wineries, restaurants, natural parks and many other attractions.
Our family and friends love coming to Lakehouse Farm. Because it's so peaceful and quiet they tend to just want to stay here all the time to enjoy the farm amenities like walking, tennis or just relaxing by the fire.
The farm allows you to experience a true rural retreat that is naturally beautiful, private and secluded, yet close enough to Melbourne for a weekend getaway.
The accommodation consists of two small houses, with a large timber deck attached to the main house.
The main house is a cedar-clad cabin with one main bedroom and a mezzanine bedroom. There is a kitchen and living area, with a large fireplace and a bathroom/laundry. The deck has extensive views of the surrounding paddocks and the tree-lined lake, with Mornington Peninsula National Park in the distance. It is very private with no other house in sight. The deck is great for outdoor dining.
Then there is the bungalow, which has two bedrooms (separated by a partitioned plaster wall) and a separate bathroom.
Next to the bungalow are the stables (not in use) and garage. The bungalow is fifty metres from the main cabin.
Linen and Towels are provided.
Lakehouse Farm consists of 25 hectares (63 acres) of prime land, not unlike Provence in France or Tuscany in Italy. Farm walks offer vistas of the nearby rolling hills, dotted with the Cyprus Pine hedges that are a feature of the peninsula. Our farm is home to horses and Belted Glaway cattle. Grey Eastern Kangaroos may be spotted in the paddocks.
We are happy for you to walk around the farm. There are some fabulous views of the hinterland. It is best to stick to the laneways in case there are animals in the paddocks. All paddock fences are electrified. Please leave gates as you find them.
There is another house on the property, which is permanently let (500 metres away). Please allow the tenants their privacy.
The main drawcard of this property is the large tree-lined, freshwater lake of 1 1/2 hectares. It is a water-bird haven. The jetty provides a great setting to gather family or friends for a drink or two, romantic dinners or just relaxing.
Other guest facilities include a tennis court (artificial turf) with retractable draw netting, a large in-ground trampoline and fruit picking from the orchard in season.
Other things to note

Lakehouse Farm is also available for events whether it be a wedding, conference, retreat or other special celebration. Please enquire about event rates.
