Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Glasshouse is a one-of-a-kind architectural gem.

Perched high, with sweeping views over the Derwent River, it's the perfect place to lose yourself in the ever changing expansive views. Stunning sunrises and moon rises over the water.

Nestled in nature with wildlife on the front lawns, yet just a hop, skip, and jump away from vibrant coffee shops, restaurants, and art galleries.

Experience floor-to-ceiling windows that stretch across two stories, a loft-style bedroom, and a luxurious bath.

The space
The space is architecturally designed with expansive windows to capture the ever-changing views. Please be aware there are no curtains in the house to make the most of the views so the sunrises will be visible and the sun will stream in.

The master bedroom is on the second level, it is accessed via stairs in the conservatory. Expect stunning morning views as the sun rises and the sparkling lights of the city at night and full moon vistas.

A unique bathroom with clawfoot bath means you can simply lie back and relax and take in the views of the city below.

The shower is a rainfall shower, so enjoy the sensation of showering in an open plant filled space.

Guest access
You will have private access to the entire house (excluding a lower level which is not currently ready to be included in the airbnb - this is not occupied).

There is a fully equipped kitchen and living area with lounge suite and an enclosed glass wood fire. Which makes for cozy winter evenings in during the colder months.

There is an outside deck with table and stools.

There is an outside courtyard with a fire pit.

There is a washing machine downstairs but until this part of the house is ready this is unavailable. If you do need access, please send a message and we will try and accommodate your needs.

Other things to note
The house sits on a nature reserve so there are lots of wallabies, echidnas, bandicoots and potoroos in the front yard. Please enjoy them visiting but don't feed them as it is not good for their tummy's. We have a watering hole out the front for them and encourage you to keep it full during your stay if you enjoy the site of the native wildlife around the watering hole.
Keep in mind that the reserve is a natural bush habitat so it could also be home to snakes. They keep top the bush and have never been sited near the house.
Sometimes ants may also come in, there is ant rid to manage these if they are a concern.

Neighbourhood highlights

Elevated position overlooking the river and battery point, West Hobart is a lovely and quiet neighbourhood in close proximity to the city and the foothills of Mount Wellington.

The property is bordered by a nature reserve which means there are lots of little fury friends such as wallabies and potoroo's as well as echidnas and an array of different bird species.

The Knocklofty Reserve is a quick 5 min walk away and provides a wonderful experience with walking tracks all over the mountain.

Alternatively, you can walk down along the South Hobart Rivulet track into town. This is a peaceful 30 min amber along the rivulet where you just might see the resident platypus.

The city is only a 7-8 min drive away where you will find an abundance of nice cafes and restaurants. Which is approximately $8 in an Uber.

Or make the trip to Mona by ferry for a day out at Tasmania's famous museum.
