Extra spacious
Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Glasshouse is a one-of-a-kind architectural gem.
Perched high, with sweeping views over the Derwent River, it's the perfect place to lose yourself in the ever changing expansive views. Stunning sunrises and moon rises over the water.
Nestled in nature with wildlife on the front lawns, yet just a hop, skip, and jump away from vibrant coffee shops, restaurants, and art galleries.
Experience floor-to-ceiling windows that stretch across two stories, a loft-style bedroom, and a luxurious bath.
The space
Glass Holme is an architecturally designed retreat that invites you to slow down and truly take in Hobart’s beauty. Expansive windows allow changing light, an active harbour, and city views to shape your experience. There are intentionally no curtains, so you’ll wake naturally with the sunrise and feel the home glow as daylight fills the space.
The master bedroom is located on the upper level and is accessed via stairs through the conservatory. Each morning brings wide-open views as the sun rises, while nights offer sparkling city lights and full moon moments from the comfort of bed.
The bathroom is simple, special, and designed for relaxing in. Lush plants fill the space, creating a calm, green atmosphere. The classic clawfoot bath looks out over the city, offering a peaceful place to soak and unwind, while the rainfall shower is set among greenery for a fresh, open feel.
There is a fully equipped kitchen and living area with a lounge suite and an enclosed glass wood fire, perfect for cozy winter evenings indoors. Step outside to the deck, complete with a table and stools, or relax in the courtyard around the fire pit under the stars.
A washing machine is located downstairs, but until this part of the house is ready, it may be unavailable. If you do need access, please send a message and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
Glass Holme is an honest, beautiful hideaway for couples who value space, light, and memorable moments — a place to step out of routine and feel quietly away from the world.
Guest access
You will have private access to the entire house (excluding a lower level which is not currently ready to be included in the airbnb - this is not occupied).

Other things to note
The house has a nature reserve on two sides, so you may see wallabies, echidnas, bandicoots, and potoroos visiting the front yard. Please enjoy watching them, but do not feed them, as it isn’t good for their health. There’s a watering hole out front for the wildlife, and if you like, you’re welcome to keep it topped up during your stay — it’s a joy to see the native animals around it.
As the house is nestled in nature, you may find a family of ants has ventured inside for water or food if little scraps are left out. Let us know if they try to join your stay, and we’ll find ways to move them on their way.
Glass Holme is also located in a quiet community environment. To respect neighbours and maintain the peaceful atmosphere, late-night parties are not allowed. We encourage you to enjoy the tranquillity, natural surroundings, and serene beauty of the place during your stay.

From the host
Elevated position overlooking the river and battery point, West Hobart is a lovely and quiet neighbourhood in close proximity to the city and the foothills of Mount Wellington.
The property is bordered by a nature reserve which means there are lots of little fury friends such as wallabies and potoroo's as well as echidnas and an array of different bird species.
The Knocklofty Reserve is a quick 5 min walk away and provides a wonderful experience with walking tracks all over the mountain.
Alternatively, you can walk down along the South Hobart Rivulet track into town. This is a peaceful 30 min amber along the rivulet where you just might see the resident platypus.
The city is only a 7-8 min drive away where you will find an abundance of nice cafes and restaurants. Which is approximately $8 in an Uber.
Or make the trip to Mona by ferry for a day out at Tasmania's famous museum.
