We live in an attached apartment off of a 200 year old barn that has been in the family for the past 40 years. It is located on Howard's Cove just off of the Severn River and is just 3 miles from downtown Annapolis and close to the Annapolis Mall.
The Barn on Howard's Cove was originally owned by Cathy's parents who ran it as a Bed and Breakfast. In the summer of 2015 Fred and Cathy retired and moved down to Annapolis to live in the barn along with their daughter and her family. The barn was totally remodeled and now serves as home to both families. The available bedroom is located in Fred and Cathy's apartment which has a separate entrance located to the left of the barn entrance. The room is small but adequate. It has two twin beds and a private bathroom which has a shower. Linens and towels are provided. We have beautiful waterfront views from our breakfast table and in the spring and summer the gardens come alive. A continental breakfast is available in our kitchen each morning where you can enjoy your cup of coffee overlooking the water.
PLEASE READ DETAILED DESCRIPTION BELOW FOR SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS TO OUR HOME!
You have access to our kitchen in the sense that you can put something in our refrigerator but we aren't set up to have you do your own cooking. You can feel free to make coffee or tea throughout the day.
We have put a small combination TV/DVD player for DVDs and there is a Redbox located a mile from our home.
Weather permitting you have access to a canoe or kayak and can swim off of our dock.
Interaction with guests
Fred and Cathy work part-time during the week but are home most weekends to greet you and assist you in your plans to visit the beautiful city of Annapolis. Just ask us about the "tourist guide" we put together for our guests! Check-in time is 4 p.m. and checkout is 11 a.m.
We ask that you refrain from smoking in our home and on our property.
We do not allow animals in our home. The size of the room and the proximity to our other bedroom makes it difficult for us to accommodate small children which is why we ask that you not include them in your booking.
We moved back to Annapolis the summer of 2015 and helped remodel the barn along with our daughter and her family. We now live next door "literally" to our daughter and her family. We love having our grandchildren nearby to enjoy!! Cathy works part-time as a teacher and has a home business. Fred is a retired pastor who now enjoys working part-time as a handyman and as a lacrosse coach. Both Fred and Cathy love to travel and camp and are active in their local church.
