Stunning valley views of the border ranges and farmland. Birds abound and wallabies hop by.
Please Note: We are not a short distance from Lamington National Park - that is at least a 2 1/2 hour drive away.
We are about a 30 minute drive from Mt Warning, Natural Bridge, Mebbin National Parks and 45 minutes from Springbrook National Park.

The space
Limpinwood Valley is a beautiful part of the world, surrounded on 3 sides by the border ranges and Mount Warning (Wollumbin) on the other. We have 2 villages (Chillingham & Tyalgum) about a 10 minute drive away and still only 40 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport and beaches.
We do not have easy access to hiking trails but we do have a pleasant pastoral walk.
We are a NON smoking environment.

Guest access
You can have a lovely walk along Limpinwood Valley Road which runs beside Hopping Dick Creek.
Please Note that we are NOT close to Lamington National Park but ARE within driving distance of Mt Warning, Mebbin, Springbrook and Natural Bridge National Parks.

Other things to note
There is no public transport, so, if you do not have your own means of getting around it can be difficult.
There is not a full kitchen, but some cooking implements and a BBQ.
Mobile phone reception is only available via the Telstra network.
We have installed Wifi to the cabin but it does have limited data. If guests need to upload/download anything other than emails and casual browsing please make arrangements to come to the house and use our Satellite connection.
I use cotton or cotton rich linen which is not easy to iron perfectly but, please be assured everything has been washed and your linen is clean.
Please note that our driveway is not sealed and can seem difficult when you first see it. However, we don't have 4wd vehicles and cars have no problems coming up keeping steady in 2nd gear. If you are unsure, let us know and we will meet you at the entrance.
We are on NSW time and an hour ahead of Queensland throughout the summer.

In the village of Tyalgum there are some very interesting shops and a lovely cafe 'Flutterbies'. Well worth checking out.
Chillingham, another close village, has Bucks Barn with Australian Bush Tucker.
Friday night is pizza and music night at the back of Flutterbies cafe in Tyalgum.
There is no late night shopping in our villages so, if you need supplies you will need to be there before 5 p.m. or stop at Nerang or Murwillumbah on your way here.

My partner, Russell, and I fell in love with a block of land back in 1997 - took the plunge and moved on to it. For 3 years we lived in an old shed and 2 caravans while we cleared the block from many years of neglect. Our house is a 3 bay shed we put up and converted to a home and the cabin started as a place for my mother or Russell's mother when they visited. During our time here we have grown flowers for the cut flower market (an enterprise that ended when we lost the train in Murwillumbah) and bred standard poodles. Russell still part time coaches students doing maths and physics. We love where we live and never tire of it. We've learned that the valley tests us with weather and the crazy rate of plant growth. We've learned that we can't have an immaculate lawn and garden and to try would drive us crazy. We love to share our special place in the world and hope than any visitors get to see why we made the tree change all those years ago; that they get to see the beauty of the valley.
