Welcome to The Safari, our most private and secluded retreat, tucked away on 40 peaceful acres in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. Created for couples who want to switch off, reconnect and experience something truly special, it's where luxury meets the wild.
Spend your afternoons cooking homemade pizzas in the wood fired oven, gather around the crackling fire pit with a glass of wine, wash away the day beneath the outdoor rain shower, then climb into bed and watch a movie projected onto the big screen before falling asleep to the sounds of nature.
Wake to spectacular sunrises over the mountains, friendly farm animals wandering nearby and fresh country air that makes you want to stay just one more night.

The Safari is surrounded by nature, with sweeping views across the Warburton Ranges, rolling vineyards and peaceful paddocks where our horses, cows and Alpacas quietly graze. Wander through the vineyard, take in the fresh mountain air and enjoy watching the animals from a respectful distance. For everyone's safety, we simply ask that you don't enter the paddocks or open any gates.
Beyond the Safari, you'll discover a beautiful creek lined with towering Mountain Ash trees and lush tree ferns, creating the perfect backdrop for a quiet wander. Just 20 metres from your retreat, a walking trail leads to the stunning John's Hill Reserve Lookout, where breathtaking views across Port Phillip Bay and the Dandenong Ranges await.
Whether you're soaking in the outdoor baths, wandering through the vineyard or watching the morning mist roll across the mountains, The Safari invites you to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience a side of the Dandenong Ranges most people never see.

UBERS are not available in this area. If you need any sort of transport you will need to contact the host. There is one cab driver in the area and needs to be booked well in advance.

In house massage/Facial services (have a beautiful local lady come to the Yurt/Cabin for an hour of pure bliss) must be booked in advance. 🧘♀️ or you could book yourself into the Natural Wellness Centre in Monbulk if our in-house massage service is not available at your time of stay.

Alkira also offers Firewood. We have 20kg bags of firewood available for just $20 per bag. If you're interested in purchasing one or two bags, please contact Andrew prior to your stay, and he will deliver the bags to your accommodation for your convenience.

We have teamed up with AmazingCo and we are now offering mystery picnics in the “Dandenong Ranges” this is a self guided food and adventure experience with a difference!! Solve clues and riddles to uncover local gourmet producers and stores!
