Guests often search for this popular amenity
Rustic outside but 5 star simple luxury inside. Fully-self contained and comfy. Solar hot water & power for the perfect eco-friendly holiday. Situated between two National Parks.
The Tin Chalet is in the middle of the 'farmyard' of an organic property, next to the garden and orchard, with goats, chooks and Clydesdales across the fence and the beautiful Brodribb River a hop and a skip away. Organic produce, milk and eggs in season (guests can provide own linen - for a small discount).

The space
Recently built (still finishing small details like trim but is fully functional).
In winter this is warm, having double glazed windows and being well insulated all round. The wood stove cooks meals and keeps the place cosy.
The upstairs bedroom has a double bed.
Bathroom and laundry are off the verandah, with an inside/outside pan toilet at the end (certain considerations are needed).
The kitchen has a wood stove plus a double burner gas stove for cooking, a small 40 litre fridge and a cool room. There is a small study nook as well as a 2 seater lounge to flop on.

Where you’ll be

Goongerah, Victoria, Australia

Goongerah is a small isolated valley, 70km north of Orbost and the one road through the settlement heads into NSW, Canberra or the snow fields. It is surrounded by forests and wildlife.
The community of about 40 people has one school, a phone box, a CFA shed and a hall. Most people are interested in growing their own food, using renewable energy and have a fairly progressive and environmental outlook.
The nearest shops are a long drive so please come with all your needs, and even a spare jerry of fuel if you intend to visit the parks.

During your stay

To make contact with the host or ask a question just cooee out and wander over (calling out out is the 'country doorbell'). I'm just 60 metres away behind the old shed, trees and chook yard.
