While enjoying the view and your morning coffee, you might even see a deer or moose run past. In the winter time you can go and explore the surrounding nature with snow shoes or cross country skies from just outside the door, or drive 20 min to the Hafjell alpine skiing resort, one of the main venues of the 1994 Winter Olympics.

The hut is located off the main road. In the village, there is a hotel with dinner and a ski rental with a small kiosk/café during the ski season from Christmas to Easter. Outside the season, it is very quiet in the village. Bus stop towards Lillehammer is 500 meters away. Driving time to the city is 25 minutes.

For your information, there is never anyone in the main cabin that is located next to the secondary cabin when it is rented out.

Solstrand Guesthouse is a great place by Mjøsa that provides space for relaxation, swimming and quality time. The 6 km long stretch into Gjøvik can be covered in a few minutes by car, a bike ride or a walk along the pilgrim's trail.
