Beachfront holiday rental in Refuge Cove

The Funky Bunky is a lovely little cabin, very quiet and private. There’s amenities to make the stay smooth and simple, and the river right next to us was very pleasant to watch and listen to. Carol and Danny were very gracious hosts, very responsive and had everything we needed. Will be back again

This a stunning home! The view of the beach from the living room and primary bedroom is beautiful. The bathrooms have heated floors. The kitchen has more than enough dishes, glassware and cooking equipment. We loved the pocket doors that opened up to the patio, enjoyed many meals outside and sat around the fire pit. The beach is just steps away and our dog had the best time! A basket full of beach towels is provided. Comfy blankets and pillows on the couch. The only critique we had was noise from connected units. Doors banging shut, footsteps on staircases, all seemed to shake our unit and disrupt the peacefulness of the location. Maybe that’s just to be expected though as the units are connected and on stilts. Regardless of the noise, we’d 100% return here!

I stayed at Lauri's place for a week while working remotely, and it was exactly what I needed. The deck offers a great view - perfect for morning coffee or unwinding in the evening. The area is quiet and peaceful, I could really focus during the day and relax afterwards. Even though it wasn't a vacation, I left feeling recharged. The cabin, though small, was well-equipped and comfortable, and the natural beauty around made it a memorable experience.

Everything was great! Bob was a fantastic host and the suite was very well equipped.

Our stay at this Airbnb of Ronan and Alex was absolutely wonderful! The location was unbeatable – just a short walk to the beach, which made for some truly beautiful and relaxing moments. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The amenities were very good – everything we needed was provided, and the place was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It really felt like a cozy and welcoming home base. The host was also great – communicative, helpful, and thoughtful throughout our stay. Also they went out of their way to help us and that speaks volumes of their commitment to help and make this feel like - HOME AWAY FROM HOME ! We had such a memorable experience and would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. We’d definitely love to return in the future!

My wife and I had an amazing time spending our honeymoon here. The float house was super comfy. You can sit on the deck and watch the tide come in slowly. The people on the island are super kind. Be sure to check out the farmers market on Fridays to meet the locals. As well as all the road stands set up.

Gill and Sue are fantastic hosts, they are very friendly, responsive, helpful and proactive in their communication. Their cabin is just fantastic and located within a beautiful area, literallyon the beach front. "Sleeping under the stars" was a very apecial treat. When we can, we will definately be back. What a beautiful location! From early sunrise quiet times with coffee to sunset dinners on the patio, everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Quiet, comfortable, thoughtfully- and well-appointed. I would, without hesitation, return for a future stay.

Enjoyed the privacy of the unit and the beauty of Pacific Shores Resort. The kitchen was well equipped with lots of dishes and pots and pans. Heidi communicated well with good information.

Sally and Dale have such a BEAUTIFUL property - it was the perfect location for a girls’ bachelorette weekend. They were also such kind and responsive hosts, quick to respond to anything we needed, we truly felt right at home.

Beautiful apartment with a really nice unobstructed sea view. Everything just like in the photos, clean and lots of natural light. I really enjoyed the beautiful bathroom…very nicely done. The bed is huge and very comfy as well. The view from the rooms and balconies is exceptional and really lovely. The whole property is really nice and well maintained. Especially enjoyed the bbq areas and fireplaces in the common areas. Communication was very good and check in instructions easy and clear. Overall we had a lovely stay and I would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy the sea and nature of Vancouver Island. You would definitely need a car there, as there is not so much to do in a walking distance. Closes town is approx. 5 - 10 min. Drive. Ferry in Nanaimo about 20-30 minutes. Very convenient!

Staying with Chelsea’s place was a pleasure. The location was perfect, the home was cozy and clean, and lots of activities to do. We are planning to go back next year. Highly recommended!

Had a great stay! Everything about the place from cleanliness to the beautiful view was amazing. The bed was comfy and the place is perfect for two people. Tanya was always responsive when we had any questions. We saw sea lions one night too! Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a cozy spot with views. Will definitly be back!

Cozy, peaceful, calm, nice big trees all around, can just lightly hear the ocean and wildlife from the home. The ocean beach is in view from the window and a short walk through grass away. Pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves during the weekdays. Town is a 15 minute drive. Host is friendly and quick to answer any questions.

What a uniquely decorated space, with a combination of antiques, and thoughtful design. Petra was a gracious helpful host. The airbnb is essentially on the beach, and had an absolutely stunning view. Muffins were top notch.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful waterfront property. The setting is absolutely stunning—overlooking the water, with breathtaking views, water access and a peaceful, natural vibe that instantly made us feel relaxed. The place itself is very unique, full of charm and character, and clearly loved and well-taken care of. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and their warmth really added to the experience. Our kids had an amazing time playing in the yard—lots of room to play and explore. The location was perfect for exploring the Powell River and Lund area, with plenty of nearby trails, beaches, and local attractions to enjoy. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend this special spot to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

Kim’s place on the beach was exactly what the doctor ordered, quiet, peaceful and private, well appointed with a pile of extras that were beyond expectations but deeply appreciated. Beds were comfy and the place was impeccably clean on arrival. The deck had an awesome view of the ocean and there was abundant wildlife present, we had an excellent stay, the only complaint was that we didn’t book for longer… will definitely book a stay again, feeling like this might be the new favorite spot….

We had an incredible stay at Rob and Joanne’s beautiful home! The house is stunning, offering a lovely view that made our time there even more special. Rod and Joanne are such a kind and welcoming couple, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Very peaceful and quiet throughout the stay, was a great place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. They even gave us a Zucchini from their garden which was one of the tastiest Zucchinis we've ever had!
