Cabin holiday rentals in Rappahannock County

We stayed at this Airbnb for a bachelorette weekend with six adults, and it was absolutely beautiful—both inside and out. Three of us stayed upstairs, while the other three used the bunk beds, which were surprisingly comfortable and conveniently located near a full bathroom on the same floor. We were especially relieved to have a screened-in porch, which made it easy to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about bugs. The house was thoughtfully stocked with essentials, including a charming coffee bar and plenty of towels. Overall, we’d absolutely recommend this spot for a fun and relaxing mountain getaway!

Perfect Getaway! We had the most amazing honeymoon stay at this Airbnb! The cabin was immaculately clean and thoughtfully stocked with everything we could possibly need—from kitchen essentials to cozy blankets. The hosts truly went above and beyond to make the space welcoming and romantic. The amenities were everything we desired: from spending our evenings soaking in the hot tub, grilling under the stars, to relaxing by the fire pit. They even provided skewers for s’mores! Every detail made our stay feel special and memorable. One thing to note: the road leading up to the cabin is rocky and rough, so I’d recommend visiting in a vehicle that can handle uneven terrain. But—it’s absolutely worth the drive once you arrive. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, private, and beautiful getaway.

Enjoyed our stay at the red cabin. Very quiet location. The fire ring was peaceful. The hottub was relaxing. The scenery was beautiful (especially liked the deer that were outside each morning - that how peaceful it is!). Would highly recommend if you want a quiet place to stay.

The house was clean and offered beautiful scenery. The grill was located near the river, allowing you to enjoy cooking, dining, and taking in the view all at once. Due to the weather, the firewood was wet; it would be better if it were covered to ensure the fire pit remains usable after rain. Overall, I highly recommend this place and would definitely be happy to revisit.

This is our second property stay from this host group. We have enjoyed both mountain top locations and truly felt like we could disconnect, relax, and have a few small adventures with our pup. Truly Amazing Views!!!! Clean neutral colors and updated amenities. Easy to find things to cook with. **Also- Shout out to The Italian Job Pizza spot. We had crazy rain which delayed our getting to the house from DC, so we shifted from cooking to ordering in and they delivered!!!!!

Great, clean place with lots to do around it. Private but still close to everything needed. Host was very responsive, professional and answered quickly and throughly.

I cannot say enough about how special The Wizards Chalet was for us on our honeymoon. My husband and I both love the outdoors so much and appreciate our privacy and this was the perfect place for us. Our absolute favorite part was spending time out on the back deck and cooking dinners together in the beautiful kitchen. In between our adventures, we found so much peace in the drives and scenery but honestly we honestly felt like we were home the entire time. Marianna was so friendly and responsive from the moment we booked and after we left, would 100% recommend her as a host and The Wizards Chalet for a getaway. Looking forward to returning in the future for more adventures!

This house is very well located for enjoying Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, & Front Royal, VA. The northern most park entrance is a very short drive, & the town of Front Royal is also a short drive. The house was very comfortable for my family of eight adults and one grandchild plus dog. We convened there for a week for a family get together. You won’t be bored. Solomon has provided everything you could possibly want to have fun and relax, from the very nice outdoor hot tub, fire pit with chairs and the makings of s’mores, hammock, and corn hole game, to the downstairs game room with pool table, the extensive library, fireplaces and nice back porch with grill, table, chairs, & porch swing, etc.! The master bedroom is amazing, the downstairs bedroom is also very nice, both with en-suite bathrooms. The other two bedrooms are much smaller and share a bathroom although there is a half bath off the kitchen. It worked for us. We hated to see the week end! Would come back.

Douglas was a fantastic host. He was extremely responsive and accommodating, and his property was beyond gorgeous. We will absolutely be staying here again!

I wish I could have stayed longer! Sandra's cabin is exactly as described. Very clean, quiet, and surrounded by nature. It's the perfect place for a getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed rainy mornings drinking coffee and movie nights on the screened porch! There are lots of thoughtful touches and a well equipped kitchen. Thanks for having us!

We loved our 1 night stay! The lake was gorgeous, the lodge was cozy, and the bed was comfy. We played cards in front of the fireplace in the evening time, beautiful fireplace! Got pizza at Tony’s and brought it back for dinner. We can also recommend the Thai restaurant called “Little Peppers” that’s in town. We caught 30 fish in 2.5 hours with a rooster tail lure. Bass, bluegill, and crappie. Biggest one we caught was over a 12” long. Fished between 4:30-6:30pm and then the following morning between 8:30-9:30am. Fish were biting like crazy at all times! We fished from the dock and also from different spots on shore as we walked to all the accessible spots of the lake. Outside showers were awesome! Other wildlife we spotted were: 15 Canadian Geese hanging out on the pond, 3 heron (2 blue/1 white), 2 deer, and a groundhog! The deck, outside seating, and planted foliage and flowers were so beautiful. The view is incredible. The host is super sweet and so helpful ❤️

The cabin itself is cozy, charming, and surrounded by nature, it truly feels like a private retreat. It’s the perfect place to disconnect, unwind, and just take in the quiet beauty around you. We loved how secluded it felt, and the cabin was equipped with everything we needed. Highly recommend for anyone looking to recharge in a beautiful, private setting. We can’t wait to come back!

Mark had a gorgeous property, perfectly appointed and pristine. He was a superb host, very responsive and so helpful. The forested lot provides a peaceful and private location just a short hike to the Shenandoah River. The surrounding natural beauty and wildlife were the highlight of our stay. THIS is a great house and property!! It’s a beautiful modern feeling cabin. And this place is super clean!!!! I can’t stress this enough. The bedrooms are so comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We used the laundry area and all. Living room is very comfy with great seating. Outside on the back is a patio sofa, fun lighting and a swing. The front entry is very easy to get into. Great gravel driveway and just a few steps to the door. There is a great fire pit with a huge swing. It is private. It felt very safe. And the pool table room was so fun! We spent lots of time there. Plenty of towels, blankets, throws, etc. We highly recommend this property and would love to come back.

A perfect mountain getaway for families! This cabin is absolute luxury tucked away in a peaceful, private setting with gorgeous views of the field and surrounding mountains. It's incredibly family-friendly and thoughtfully equipped. We especially loved the propane fire pit—spent countless hours on the porch reading, relaxing, and listening to the birds. The bed was super comfortable, and everything inside was spotless. A quick reminder for future guests: this is truly in the woods, so don’t be surprised if a curious ant or two wanders in—nothing major, just part of the setting. We grilled all our meals on the propane grill and ended every evening staring at the stars through the giant window while watching a movie. Bonus: the internet worked flawlessly! I had some work to finish during our stay and had zero issues. Highly recommend—already dreaming of our next visit!

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! It was incredibly clean, cozy, quiet and peaceful. The cabin had everything we needed, and we especially appreciated the toddler gear, which saved us from packing extra items. We loved making s’mores by the firepit and curling up with books next to the gas fireplace on cool summer nights. The beds were super comfortable, and everything felt well cared for and inviting. As others have mentioned it’s quite the hike up the dirt road, but we had no problem in a small suv. It was a great retreat and would come back!

Timber Creek Lodge was a very comfortable setting for a romantic weekend getaway! Stocked with everything you'd need, and nestled in a private, wooded area.

A wonderful stay in the middle of the forest, very quiet! People are amazing and the bison steak are delicious

This was everything our family of four hoped for in a cabin retreat. The nearby Shenandoah Mountains are great for hiking and exploring. We picked up food at a local grocery store and really enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The cabin was so inviting, many times we decided to just stay in to enjoy sauna, the horseshoe pit, or a movie on the big screen downstairs. We had no complaints and would happily come back again some day.
