The environment is cozy and relaxing with wonderful Mountain View all the time and it is really a good place for vacation. The support team is helpful and responsive even after office hour.👍👍

The chalet features a beautiful view of Kota Kinabalu and comes with a BBQ pit (charcoal must be supplied by guests). The other amenities are well-maintained. There is a noticeable temperature difference between afternoon and night. Installing a mosquito net in the room would be helpful since there’s no air conditioning, and opening the windows can let in many moths. The host was very accommodating, allowing us a late checkout since there were no bookings for the following day. At one point, there was no hot water, but housekeeping promptly resolved the issue by changing the gas. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

It's a new place. It was absolutely beautiful, and with a platform where you can get a superb view of Kinabalu, and the best view of the stars at night! (it was magical). The room was very comfortable, having a front door to nature is just extra special.... and if you can bring along some BBQ items, they have ample BBQ spots with sinks and sitting area.

Worth every penny! We all loved it here! Ms. Chen is very nice and kind hearted. We all felt like at home and my kids can scream as loudly as they want because of the place is very private. The view of the Kinabalu mountains was breathtaking. There is no words can be described how happy we were at the Bonsai Villa. The villa keeper is very helpful and responsive. They all are very nice person. We would love to come again here. Thank you Ms. Chen for your great and awesome hospitality. We miss your villa already. 🥹

The place was beautiful and good for family gatherings

Had a little confusion trying to find the place but it was all good at the end. We are a group of 8 pax and 4 bedrooms were good for us . Hall was big and space surrounding it was huge ! Very nice retreat in the mountains with gorgeous views, cool air and peace n quiet . Note that there is no WiFi at the place though . Stayed one night and thoroughly enjoyed the place . Went for morning walk and area was all guarded by respective family dogs, so it’s very safe .

The view is absolutely stunning — you can clearly see Mount Kinabalu, which is breathtaking! However, there are a few downsides. The towels had an unpleasant smell and could be changed more frequently. Also, after entering the property, there's a long flight of stairs to climb, which makes carrying luggage very inconvenient. It could be challenging for elderly guests or those with heavy bags.
