Period mud brick cottage originally built sometime before or around 1900 with family history stretching back five generations and the gold rush. It is set on a property of nearly 30 acres with abundant wildlife and scenery. It is located approximately 5-6 kms from the township of Avoca Victoria and it is within walking distance of a couple of local wineries and the Percydale historic area. It is isolated from any close neighbours and you do not have to share facilities with any other guests.

Mount Cole Cottages - Original Cottage

Rustic timber cottage situated on our 13 acres bush property. at the foot of Mount Cole. Relax on the property or use it as a base for bush walking in the nearby Mount Cole State forest or visiting Pyrenees wineries. Abundant wildlife including wallabies, echidnas and a wide assortment of birdlife. The property sustained extensive damage in the February 2024 bushfire. Original Cottage is fine, though we lost the much loved mudbrick meditation temple and a several other important buildings.

We have a cosy wood fire heater, I would like to think this is a home away from home. It's a very peaceful spot where you can feel one with nature. It is set in the middle of a farming community with spectacular views of rolling hills and the sounds of birds and occasional sheep. The warm mid morning sun lulls into a sense of calm and takes you far away from everyday hustle and bustle. a lovely spot to take your young children as we have a variety of animals and we also cater for babies.
