My wife, 2 year old son, and I had a wonderful stay here over the last week of Easter. The accommodation is exactly as described, and the view is magnificent. We loved our time here and hope to return again in the future.

Unforgettable Stay at Cable Bay! My husband and I had such an incredible time at this beachfront Airbnb that we ended up extending our trip—honestly, we just didn’t want to leave so we extended our stay and extra day! The property offers stunning views of the ocean and provides direct access to the best beach in the area. Rosemary and Brian were fantastic hosts from the moment we arrived, greeting us warmly and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their thoughtful recommendations on local dining spots and nearby attractions really enhanced our experience. The location is perfect—there’s a fantastic fishery and a charming dairy just around the corner, so everything you could need is within easy reach. We truly had an unforgettable time and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this hidden gem at Cable Bay!

Shirley’s place is a family batch, with stunning ocean views. The showers and beds are extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The jetty was perfect to tie the dinghy up to safely overnight. The two levels are extremely sound proof (our tired sailor downstairs and tired co sailor are snoring masters, and neither heard each other). Have the two level separation was perfect for privacy from each other. There is a liquor store, bar and restaurant and 4 square (convenience store) a few minutes drive from the property. There is no laundry and in the township itself, no laundromat. Closest would be in Kaitaia. The property suited our requirements perfectly and allowed the two blokes to rest, eat and plan for the journey ahead, limping a yacht home without a propellor and broken rigging. This place was truly exceptional, one of the best stays we have ever had. Everything was exactly as described or even better. Check-in was smooth and simple, and the location is absolutely magical. The house is spacious, spotless, and beautifully furnished. The huge TV and incredibly comfortable sofa made relaxing in the evenings a real treat, and the kitchen is fully equipped with high quality appliances that made cooking a pleasure. The views from the property are absolutely breathtaking, and having the beach just down a few steps felt like a private paradise. Every detail has been thoughtfully arranged to make guests feel at home. We felt instantly relaxed and completely at peace here. This is a rare find, and we are so glad we discovered it. I cannot recommend this Airbnb highly enough, and we are already dreaming of coming back.

We had a beautiful time at Kerrie and Wills house up in the far north. Great little touches like the handwritten note, continental breakfast, and large deck made this place great. The back deck is very private, you have the river view all to yourself! Only things to be aware of is that there's no door on the bedroom and the water pump is loud if you're a light sleeper like me. Otherwise stunning place, we hope to go again and see some more stars next time!

Very nice place, enough space for the whole family of 5. Large terrace for meals. Great location, minutes from Hourora Heads beach and for day trips. We had a wonderful week. Thank you Geneviève for all your advice.

Rhys and Kas’s home exceeded every expectation we had. The view is truly beyond words—something you have to experience to believe. From sunrise to sunset, it felt like living in a postcard. The house itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The short walk to the beach was one of our favorite parts—just a few minutes through a gorgeous, peaceful trail that felt like a hidden gem. Our kids loved it, and we soaked in every moment as a family. Rhys and Kas were an exceptional hosts—kind, attentive, and incredibly responsive throughout our stay. This home offered us the perfect mix of comfort, beauty, and tranquility. We can’t recommend it enough and would come back in a heartbeat!

Five star stay. Immaculately clean and well-appointed. Private, with comfortable bed and linens. Bev was easy and accessible to communicate with. We loved being so close to the beaches and took advantage of a morning at the Sauna Project (highly recommend!) and having bikes to explore as well. Vineyards nearby are also worth a visit. Great place to stay for couples or families alike, especially if you enjoy cooking as the kitchen was a dream to prepare our meals.
