The shelter is located about 5 kilometers further south of the quiet river port village. It is a town of 500 inhabitants. One of its main attractions is the Marble Chapel, a mineral formation of calcium carbonate on the shores of Lake General Carrera.

The main attraction of coming to Bahía Murta is the enormous tranquility offered by its surroundings, although it is not the town with the most goods and services, such as Puerto Tranquilo, its tranquility, peace and serenity is very pleasant.
