My husband and I spent a peaceful weekend getaway at Solitude Farmz and couldn’t have asked for a more unique and comforting experience. Our lodging opened right out onto the beautiful farm grounds, giving us full freedom to roam and explore. Although much of our stay was marked by rainy, windy weather, we never felt the need to leave—Solitude Farmz is a haven for slow, thoughtful living. We spent hours reading from John Taylor Gatto’s personal library, playing the many games available, and simply enjoying each other’s company in the cozy, inviting space. Taylor and Nancy were warm and attentive hosts—thoughtful, knowledgeable, and available whenever we had questions. Whether you’re looking to spend intentional time with loved ones or seeking a tranquil space to rest and reconnect with nature, Solitude Farmz truly has it all. We can’t wait to return!!!!

Great stay. Quiet street and neighborhood. Lots of New England charm and elegance in the home.

Jason did a great job communicating everything we needed to know. If we had a question he respnded quickly. The house was very clean. We rented in December so we could not take advantage of the lake but hope to be back in the summer. I would highly recommend this rental.

We had a great stay overall, the house very clean, Jenna provided a lot of functional items in the house, we opted to stick to downstairs and the futon but the house is very spacious, not much to do in the neighborhood but the pizzeria and stewart shops down the road had all that we needed for our short visit.

We traveled from Indiana, PA to NY, so our son could escort his friends to Whitney Point Prom. We choose Wilma, as it looked inviting & relaxing & to be honest, it far exceeded our expectations. Once we got everyone off to Prom, we were able to relax on the back deck, watching/listening to the river. We even had a small fire & the kids decided to skip the After Prom & come crash our peaceful fire. The citronella candles that Charlene provided, was a huge help with the evening bugs along the river. Sunday, we spent all day relaxing on the back deck & got dinner from Magro's. If we ever find ourselves traveling to NY again, we would definitely stay at Wilma again. If it wasn't for our Bulldog missing the other 2 pups at home, we would never have wanted to leave.

We had an absolutely peaceful and lovely stay at Julie’s guesthouse: an oasis for folks who need a break from the chaos of life! The property was stunning, with trails for walking, a pond with a dock, and beautiful nature to behold. We even borrowed a couple of bikes and took a nice ride around the area to Melody Lake. Julie has an incredible barn on her property that is used for yoga and other meditation activities. We were lucky enough to participate in a special sound healing with members of the local community and can’t wait to see what develops there. We plan to return any time we need a getaway + reset. The home itself is immaculate and incredibly cozy. The deck off the upstairs bedroom was perfect for morning coffee and SUPER star-gazing at night. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bathroom is perfect. We can’t say enough about our few blissful days! All of that aside, the best part was getting to know Julie. She is a special person and we are grateful our paths have crossed.

This was our second stay at Jason's, and certainly not our last. We make a few trips to New York each year, and I plan on staying at Jason's each time, if it is available.

The Cottage in the woods was exactly what we had hoped it would be, a peaceful getaway from busy life. There were so many things to like such as the friendliness that Amy and Josh displayed, or the chickens and turkeys that kept us company. Speaking of company, Maggie was a fun-loving pup who we threw a stick for and got to walk with. Meanwhile, the house was large but homey and we had lots of fun playing ping pong and enjoying the creek in the porch area. The house was also a bit chilly in the fall, but Amy and Josh were accommodating and had a space heater that made it feel much warmer. I should add that we had the pleasure of visiting during the Applefest a Greene town festival where we got to see 96 artisans and craft tents and enjoy plenty of fall food. Lastly, I just wanted to say that if you are looking to get away and have a weekend or week for yourself or with a partner then this is the place to go!
