There is a deck overlooking the stream with a picnic table.

Plentiful fishing and boating opportunities. 3 miles to Lake St Catherine, under 10 miles to Lake Bomoseen. Slate Valley bike trails surround the area.

My husband and I absolutely loved staying at Scott’s beautifully remodeled Schoolhouse. Scott was super responsive and very flexible for our arrival. Upon arrival the we were pleasantly surprised and greeted by a very friendly Rooster! We also loved how spotless and immaculate the entire house was. We loved the spaciousness and we felt right at home. Bed was super comfortable and Scott and his wife had thought of every possible little thing that you might need in the bathroom. We also had a welcome basket of goodies that we really enjoyed. I highly recommend that you book this place! You will not be disappointed. In fact we have already booked it for a return trip in August. We loved the large windows and decor of the home. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into making this a comfortable and relaxing space. Kitchen was also well appointed. Location was very quiet and peaceful. This place is top notch!

My partner and I loved our stay at this cozy lake house and think it may be one of our favorite places out of everywhere we have visited. The lake was beautiful even though it was a rainy weekend with a very quiet peaceful area which was great for relaxing to recharge. The private dock was an added bonus that we enjoyed to be able to observe the scenery and is even where my partner chose to pop the question and propose when we had a moment of sunshine (I said yes)! 💍 For breakfast one morning we went to Bomoseen Diner not too far from the lake house, which had really good food and we would recommend it to anyone else who chooses to visit. If my partner and I are looking to visit Vermont again, we will definitely be trying to stay here! 🌄

Quiet & Cozy Cottage Tucked into Lush VT Hillside

As so many others have said, this is more than just a place to stay. It's an incredible experience. The pictures capture some of the perfection of this cozy Hobbit Hole, but can't do justice to all of the thoughtful touches Cynthia and Pepper have included throughout. It's clear how much love and attention have gone into this home! This trip was a surprise for my husband's 40th birthday. We spent our time watching the Lord of the Rings, playing board games, and eating many meals. The cold and rainy weather, which prevented us from exploring more of the area, made our stay feel all the more cozy. Cynthia and Pepper were kind and responsive hosts, and they've set up some wonderful adventures around their property, including a Quest, Archery, and an indoor scavenger hunt that we loved doing. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and can't wait to come back again!

From the layout of this cozy apartment to the thoughtful amenities provided, you will find a restful stay here. Kimberly and her husband were also very responsive and easy to communicate with. What a perfect weekend. We were struck by how clean and fresh the house was when we entered, finding it welcoming, comfortable, cozy and well appointed. Charles was an amazing host. He filled the house with welcoming touches like snacks, soft drinks, coffee supplies, as well as bathroom amenities in case we forgot our own. The front deck is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the evening, and I hope to come back when the new back deck is completed. A perfect place to stay, we truly felt like we were in a home away from home.

We had a great stay, the place was just what we needed. It was quiet, not far from restaurants, the lake and the golf course. Joe was great to deal with and we will definitely stay there again next year.
