Private beach cottage at Ecostays

AngelaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved staying here over the Easter break, it was a perfect little spot on top of a hill, looking out to the ocean. Our two dogs had a great time checking out the area and they couldn’t wait to go for a walk down to the beach each morning. It was lovely to meet the Owner Ian, he was chilled and friendly, he also gave us some tips on places to check out around the area.

The Lagoon Beach House - Horrocks

JacquelineRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The house is lovely with everything you need. We are not very lucky with weather and it was quite windy while we were there. So we made the most of the house which was very comfortable. The beds and pillows were really comfy too. We travelled right up the coast and I must say that the water and salty air are brutal on house materials. And also on my hair!

WOW! Absolute beachfront 5-bedroom house with pool

JakeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Great location, huge place with plenty of room for a large group/family. Pizza oven was awesome too. One thing to note is there was no hot tub as shown in the photos, this did not take away from our stay and the stunning views and great weekend we had away. This place has its own character! Thanks Alex you have a beautiful place.

Delight On Dampier

TeganRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Delight on Dampier was just perfect for our small family of 3 and 2 dogs. The house was clean and comfortable and located close to local cafes, the beach and town. The yard was the perfect size for our dogs to run around and find comfort in the alfresco. 10/10 would stay here again. Highly recommend!

Your guide to Port Denison

All About Port Denison

Port Denison is a picturesque town on Western Australia’s Coral Coast, four hours north of Perth. Home to several white-sand beaches, Port Denison is a twin town with Dongara, the two separated down the middle by the Irwin River. From November to January the high winds and rolling swells turn South Beach into a hotspot for wave-riding and kitesurfing. Nearby, Granny’s Beach is more relaxed, offering safe conditions for swimmers of all abilities, while the reef at Nun’s Pool is one of the best snorkeling spots in the region. The surrounding area hosts some of Western Australia's 12,000 varieties of wildflowers, a majority of which can’t be found anywhere else in the world. If you can tear yourself away from the ocean for a few hours, the area also boasts a drive-in movie theatre, small history museum, and weekly markets where you can stock up on local snacks and produce.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Port Denison

Spring and autumn are the best seasons to book your accommodation in Port Denison, with pleasantly warm days and mild nights, ideal for enjoying all the outdoor activities on offer. The famous spring wildflowers around Port Denison bloom from August to November. In summer, you can expect long, hot days perfect for relaxing at the beach, but the sun can be intense, so bring UV protection. At night, you can also watch movies under the stars in the comfort of your car at one of the few remaining outdoor drive-in cinemas in Australia. Winters are cool and clear with minimal precipitation, so you can still bundle up and enjoy a windy beach walk.

Top things to do in Port Denison

South Beach

Just a few kilometres from the Port Denison town centre, this beach is revered by locals for its kitesurfing, paddleboarding, and great swimming and surfing almost all year long. The beach is vast, with plenty of space to drive your car along the sand if you have four-wheel drive. There’s also a cafe where you can refuel with a quick bite and enjoy a cold drink as the waves roll in.

The Fisherman’s Trail

This leisurely walk begins at Fisherman's Lookout and Obelisk in Port Denison and runs for 2.7-kilometres along the beachfront. Along the way, you’ll be treated to a panorama of the harbour and an impressive fleet of boats that come and go. The Obelisk pays tribute to the many lives lost at sea, and as you continue to wander, you’ll see the plaques that chronicle local shipwrecks and the town’s rich maritime history.

Port Denison Marina

Besides it being a hub for the town’s boat traffic, Port Denison Marina is also home to an impressive lobster fleet. You can buy fresh, live lobster right off the dock here — and there are barbeque facilities if you’d prefer to cook up your own feast. Outside of lobster season, there are many grassy areas (plus a playground) where you can have a picnic and watch the boats come in.
