Holiday rentals with a kayak in Penobscot County

Sugar Maple is a beautiful slice of solitude. We spent a long weekend kayaking, and enjoying the peaceful yard with campfires and games. The home was very comfortable with all the basic amenities you could need. There’s onsite laundry, kitchen cookware/utensils, a high chair, board games/cards, kayaks/life vests, and a grill. If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the perfect location. Newport doesn’t offer many dining options, so we spent most nights cooking in the spacious kitchen. Each room has its own mini split, allowing each guest their own level of comfort. We did a day trip to Acadia and Camden, and spent time in Belfast and Bangor. So many nice areas within one hour from the house. Would definitely stay here again! You won’t be disappointed.

My family loved our stay! The house was beautiful, peaceful, and right by the lake. There was lots to do at the with all the kayaks, canoes, paddle boards available to explore the lake. We spent a couple of days exploring Acadia, but enjoyed just staying at the house enjoying the scenario. James was also a very responsive host.

Took a family trip to Acadia and this was a great place to stay. The house was very comfortable and enjoyed the on-site hiking trails and sitting down at the lake and having a wine. Appreciate the quick response from the owner when I had a question. Great getaway!!! Thank you for a memorable stay!

Kevin and Cathy's place is spotlessly clean and in a pristine and serene setting. Great location on the lake with views of sunsets and sunrises. The kitchen and baths appear to be renovated and are in spotless condition with lots of supplies. We really didn't need a thing. There was never a need to reach out because instructions and pre-checkin in communications had already answered everything. We didn't use any of the many kayaks (a bit too chilly) but we did enjoy the firepit. We like the layout, with bedrooms on the top floor and living space downstairs - adults could sleep in while kids were free to have breakfast and play downstairs. I can't think of anything to add or change about this lodging. It was a wonderful visit.

Beautiful location, accommodating host and very responsive and flexible. The place is a hidden gem right next to the lake. It is in a very secluded setting, definitely worth it.

Amazing place with everything you could need. So great that they let us use the kayaks and dock. The house was the perfect size with lots of hangout spots. The neighbor’s dog came to visit several times and was so sweet! A bit far from things but that’s no problem because we wanted to spend pretty much all our time at the house if we weren’t at Acadia! The lakeside cabin was just what I needed. Quiet, private, and right on the water. My dog loved running in the yard and swimming in the lake. The cabin was comfortable with all the basics, and sitting on the porch watching the water was so relaxing. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some peace and quiet.

The Cozy Cabin was a perfect place to stay when we were in the area for our son's wedding. Everything was clean and just as described. We enjoyed the sunrise from the dock as recommended and it did not disappoint! Great location and very easy to get to. Hosts were great to deal with and very responsive. Highly recommend.

Can’t say enough about Craig’s beautiful lakeside cottage. If you like remote, peaceful and being close to nature this is for you. The house and contents seemed brand new and they had thought of everything we could want, right down to pancake mix, maple syrup and Maine blueberries for our breakfasts. An easy drive to Acadia. Craig was communicative, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and hope we’ll be back.

Incredible lake house. Overlooks the lake, and really was the perfect get away weekend. Gary provided detailed instructions, and left a bunch of recommendations for the area. We will be back!

We loved our one week stay at the cabin! It was really wonderful living right at the lake, having breakfast outside, kayaking, going swimming almost every day and just enjoying the time doing nothing or reading. We also went hiking in the nearby State Park which was great. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed. Communication with Kim was really easy-going. We definitely recommend the cabin to anyone who wants to get away from everything for a while.

We stayed at the lake house for a month and had an absolutely wonderful time! The host was very friendly and helpful. We especially loved the log furniture—it added such a cozy touch. The house was well-stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Truly a home away from home. Thank you!

This was our second stay at Brian's place, and it was just as beautiful and peaceful as we remembered. The serene atmosphere and stunning views made it the perfect getaway. Brian was a fantastic host, and we truly felt at home. We will definitely be back!

Very nice, location is perfect! Anna and Scott were very friendly, checked in to make sure everything was okay. Nice evening around the fire with a nice water view and see the sun set! I will be back again!

Nick’s place is a gem! It was a gorgeous location to get our son off the UMaine campus and visit for a few days. The house overlooks peaceful Hermon Pond easily enjoyed from the big windows, the deck or the waterfront. The house was immaculate and had anything you could need. The kitchen had everything required to make a few home cooked meals. Beds were big and very comfortable. Nick was communicative and generous. We hope to be back in warmer weather to take advantage of the kayaks!

After getting things clean we enjoyed 28 days was not good weather went back to take care of our mothers things was good to have this place to come relax in would rent again even tho it wasn’t cleaned they tried to make things right loved the cabin

My husband, toddler, dog and I had a tremendous stay at Joshua’s camp. The description matched the photos exactly—and quite honestly, the camp is even better in person. We loved our time here, and wish we’d had longer! It’s in a gorgeous location with endless opportunities for hiking (even outside of Baxter SP 🙂) within a reasonable distance nearby. We found it rustic, but it had everything we needed to be comfortable (even when the power went out during a windstorm). Joshua was a very responsive and communicative host, and we would love to stay here again!

The cabin was awesome. Lindsey was great and extremely quick with responses. My only suggestion would be to have some written directions for the road as are our GPS was struggling to locate the place at night, but still not difficult. Place had everything we needed, great water activities, and neighbors were awesome too. Would 100% rebook.

I cannot say enough good things about this airbnb. The scenery was so beautiful, like walking out into a fairytale tale. We visited in the fall which enhanced everything. The cabin was very comfortable, the bed was super comfy. It has everything you need including peace, serenity, and good vibes. We will be back!

Tammy and Randy made us feel right at home. We had everything we needed, and all the things we didn’t know we did! The kayaks were awesome and the full face snorkeling masks were a blast! The kitchen was perfectly outfitted with anything we could imagine, and the whole cottage was so comfortable. A wonderful place to introduce our son and daughter to Millinocket and Katahdin. Having the canoes and kayaks readily available was a huge plus. Caretaker Gene was friendly and went out of his way to be helpful.

Olivia was very responsive and always helpful. We used their home as a base to go to Acadia and Bar Harbor which is an easy drive. It was perfect for our father son retreat. The views from the home over the lake are beautiful and we even got to watch a sea plane land on the lake a couple of times. I would highly recommend! Thanks for the hospitality!

We had the BEST stay at Canoodlin Cabin!!! Koda is already missing Mele. We Regret not spending more time here, it was the most relaxing trip we have had in a while! Dont think twice about booking here. Peaceful surroundings, stunning Maine beauty and the most caring and thoughtful hosts!
