The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

We loved our stay at Jason’s place! We had 10 total people staying for Labor Day weekend - 7 adults, 3 kids and a dog. We all had plenty of room, the house was gorgeous - especially the kitchen and living room! We used the pool, the lake (kayaks and canoes - lots of life jackets to choose from), the basketball court and were so thankful for the option to rent the pontoon boat! My son had a great time fishing. The neighborhood is very quiet. We also had fun checking out nearby antique shops one morning & going into Bangor one evening for dinner. We will be back!

A nice rustic, peaceful getaway for our crew at the end of a long day. We appreciated the space and the surrounding greenery of Maine!

This home was very private and quiet. Any questions I had during my stay were quickly answered. I loved that the pellet stove was on when I arrived and it was easy to use. I went through a few bags of pellets that were provided. The bed was so comfortable. Ashley had cotton and flannel linens on the bed and it was very cozy. I slept so well. The WiFi was excellent. I opted to work for the week at the dining room table, so I could be by the pellet stove (it was in the single digits, with a foot of fresh snow on the ground, when I was there), but there’s a very functional desk in the bedroom too, with a lovely view outside. Speaking of snow, the storm hit on my third night and Ashley checked with me the day before to make sure I had everything I needed and suggested extra water in case the power went out. I didn’t lose power, but I was relaxed, knowing I was prepared. She even left out dog bowls and a towel for my pup! Great stay!

Such a spacious home in a great location. Well stocked and super clean with comfy beds. Highly recommend as a base camp for Millinocket adventures!

What a beautiful hidden gem this lake house is! Nestled into the Maine forest on the edge of the peaceful lake, it was a perfect spot for a relaxed reunion for two families. As we have small children, I appreciated that the water isn't too close to the house but still accessible via stairs. Travis and Laura were excellent hosts and had the house stocked with everything we could need for a wonderful stay!

Stayed for two nights to hike Katahdin with my mom to finish her thru-hike and this did the trick as a home base. Place matched the description and had everything we needed. Primary bedroom mattress sagged some in the middle - probably fine for one person, but it was noticeable with two people in bed.

My friend and I had a lovely hiking trip in Baxter and the trip was enhanced by returning to a cute little log cabin with a view of the water.

Dana is such a gracious host! The cottage was perfect for our brief stay in Millinocket - would recommend to anyone traveling to visit Baxter state park, NEOC, or any of the surrounding nature. Thank you to Dana for her consistent communication and hospitality!!!

The home went above and beyond my expectations! From the moment you walk in, there’s lots of pieces with funny quotes around the house that give you a good chuckle and make the place more inviting. There were kayaks available, life jackets, and even a wet suit! There were board games and a room with a double monitor taking our gaming experience over the top. A fire pit right by the water making it a the perfect place to lay and look at the stars. The host was very friendly and extremely responsive, I would definitely book again! The most beautiful decor inside and out. Felt just like home for 5 nights. Highly recommend this pristine cabin! There is a beautiful lake within walking distance, but we did not find any public access as far as beach/swimming or walking trails. Very peaceful quiet neighborhood. The cabin was just as described and even more! Loved our Maine vacation!

Jennifer provides so many details and amenities. We had our wedding on site and the transition from bridal to air bnb was a breeze. Would come back and stay in a heart beat! The tub is to die for. Quiet, quaint, clean and professional. Jennifer has a unique, lovely space.

We stayed at this place for a weekend! Family of 4! Everything was great! Very peaceful surroundings! Quite, private and gorgeous. We enjoyed kayaking, I managed to cut white perch from the ramp, used grill once. Place looks new and welcoming. I wish we had more time to spend at the house. Bar Harbor/Acadia/Sand Beach is less then an hour away, easy access with no traffic. Meghan was very responsive! Our flight was not until 6pm and she allowed for a late check out. Book this place with no doubt, you will not regret. Will comfortably accommodate a family of 5.

We had a wonderful time. The house was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. I loved the reading nook in the master bedroom. The outdoor area was also very relaxing and quiet.

Great place to stay after a long day hiking in Baxter. Slept 8 comfortably, has everything you need, huge TV, and cool vintage feel. Easy check in and hosts were great

Rachel's house was a perfect place to stay for our short visit to Millinocket. It was easy to find...basically equidistant from town and NEOC...and the house cozy and nicely equipped. Our stay was remarkably quiet and peaceful and the views from the back windows/yard were amazing - indeed, the ~6" of snow we received on the final morning provided an idyllic setting.

Mark was a great host! He offered to let us check in early, as our flight came in before check in time. The house was quiet and peaceful, perfect vacation house! Our kids loved the easy access to the lake, and the house provided numerous outdoor knick knacks for them to play with. We also enjoyed the relaxing mornings on the hammock. The house is close enough to all necessity’s, but still away enough to not feel crowded with people. We would recommend the place to anyone, and will be returning in the future! Thank you for a great week at the lake!
