There is a small clump of Puglia where every morning you hear the rooster sing, where you can see huge hills of golden ears that sway to the wind blowing, there is a cottage furnished with poor art furniture where peace and Tranquility are master
“This place is awesome. Michele and his wife (Lena, I believe) are great hosts. The rooms were clean, quiet and spacious. The location is just a stones throw from Monteleone center, which is why we went there. We ate every meal at the AirBnB, and my God they were great. We would walk by the kitchen a few times during the day, and there was always homemade food being prepared. This was all authentic local, homemade food, and it was plentiful to boot. If you lose weight while staying here, you have a massive tapeworm. We visited Monteleone because I wanted to visit the town that my grandparents were born. The town itself is vary charming. I went to the town records department to see if I could get a copy of my grandparents birth records. The two gentleman working the office were great. They spent about 45 minutes working with me (again through google translate), and eventually managed to get me a copy of both my grandparents birth records. As I was out with one of them taking a few photos of the war memorial just outside their door, they introduced us to the mayor. We spent another hour in the mayor's office with the deputy mayor and his daughter Claudia (who translated). We felt so welcome by everyone in the town. I hope we have the opportunity to go back to Monteleone again in the future. Staying at Michele's BnB and the friendliness of the town made me want to stay longer than I did. 2 days was not enough.”
Located in the heart of Irpinia, Agriturismo B&B Torreamando stands on the slopes of the homonymous hill, once the site of an ancient Norman tower, immersed in the greenery of lush olive trees. Less than 3 km from the urban center of Ariano Irpino and about 5 from the A16 Na - Ba motorway.
“Grazia and her family were so super kind! The place is, compared to others in the area, a lot cleaner and more cozy. Right in nature a beautiful place is awaiting you with beautiful people. Super clean! We were the first airbnb guests and felt very welcome immediately, we were even invited to the AMAZING and tasty lunch that they did for one of the family members - all handmade and fresh from their farm, not only the bread, but also the tomatoes, pasta, wine....WOW! 5 stars and I will be happy to come again! Highly appreciated! Thank you all!”
In the nineteenth century, the country houses of the good bourgeoisie were called casine, which moved there, with luggage and servants, for long periods at the time of the harvest, or for the holiday. So, despite the name of reduction, were large mansions and prestige. "La casina" was one of these. It was built by the canon Don Mattia D'Ambrosio. Today it is a receptive structure immersed in the green and quiet of the Monti Dauni.
“Mattia and his wife Susanna were exquisite people who welcomed me warmly in their Casina. I found everything I needed for the stay, and I will be back again. Highly recommended also for the beautiful surrounding landscape.”
