We had a wonderful experience and would rent again without hesitation. Great communication and the property is even better than as described. It is very well equipped both inside the cottage and the bunkie, and outdoors. We particularly liked using the barge and the kayaks, and the ducks that swam up to us every few hours. It was a very peaceful experience with beautiful views and was made even more special with great interaction with the hosts. Thank you so much Alayna and family.

This is actually a tiny slice of Heaven! I absolutely loved my treetop stay. The cabin is quaint, quiet and has just enough of everything you need. A totally tranquil stay…I didn’t want to leave!

This is a perfect location to disconnect and get in touch with nature. Beautiful scenery, and an excellent price for this location :) highly recommend.

Always a great place to get away for a quiet stay. Plenty of privacy and space on the property that makes you feel welcome. Rebecca is an incredible host and has been consistent with such great hospitality. Bring a book and sit at the beach and watch the ducks and loons swim by. There's a good 50 feet of sandbar at the water before the lake gets really deep.

The cottage on the lake is idyllic. Beautiful view, ideal location on the elevated lake. The path to get there in winter is a little sporty but it's good, travel light! The cottage is well-equipped, but bring your pillows for extra comfort. The mattresses are a little hard but camping so you can expect it. Super well equipped for cooking and above all very comfortable. We recommend it!

We absolutely loved our stay at this cottage! It was perfect for a group, with private sleeping areas and lots of shared space to relax. The cottage was fully stocked with everything we needed, and Robin was a fantastic host. Flexible, accommodating, and pet friendly, which made our weekend completely stress-free and enjoyable. We’d definitely book again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway on the water.

Tavia as a great host - greeted us so warmly and so well that we were genuinely impressed by her and her place. This is like a hidden Gem of a place. May not be upto everyone's liking - as you should remember what you signed up for - some alone time in the woods - and the place serves this purpose so well! This was the first of a kind experience for both me and my wife. She was so accommodating our requests and helped us with suggesting some brilliant places and fun activities. Her place is highly recommended.

Surrounded by nature - the trees and stars added to the perfect weekend reprieve we were looking for, and received. Hot tub, wood burning stove... couldn't have asked for anything more. Tasha and Shane were such thoughtful and responsive hosts, giving us a plethora of helpful info in regards to all the sights and activities nearby. We had a wonderful time at Barkview Hideaway! The owners are clearly experienced hosts, you can tell as soon as you walk into the chalet. They do a great job anticipating guests' needs. The place is cozy, comfortable, beautifully maintained, and fully equipped with everything you might need and more. Nestled in the forest, it offers stunning views of the lake. The lake itself is gorgeous. We visited during a peaceful time and barely saw anyone else around. It felt like we had the whole area to ourselves. A unique experience! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature. Thank you for providing everything we needed for a perfect getaway!

We had an amazing stay at Walter’s place. It really is as serene as the photos make it seem! We were travelling with our three young kids. The house was well stocked with any gear we’d need for them including toys.

This place is perfect for a romantic couples getaway! The cosy cabin is on the smaller side, but the loft space upstairs makes it feel so open and airy. We loved the clawfoot bathtub gave the space a luxury suite vibe to it. Be mindful that there is no shower, only the bathtub. Personally, it didn’t bother us, but it’s good to know for others. The hot tub was pretty big comfortably fits. Four people could definitely accommodate six. We used it every night. The local area is beautiful for nature walks with lots of lakes. The roads are in rough condition so take caution when driving. The stairs are very steep and would not be the best for someone with mobility issues. The host was very responsive and friendly. Ultimately, we had no issues with our stay and we are very satisfied. We used it as an anniversary getaway and we were very happy with our weekend.

Our stay at the Northwoods Cottage was simply perfect. Rachel and Tim were so generous, ensuring the trail to their fire pit was shovelled and gravelled so we could enjoy it with our guests. They clearly showed care in ensuring we had a great time, and all our needs would be met. The cottage its self is immaculate. The beds are comfortable, the view is amazing, the modern feel with touches of french farmhouse would make anyone feel cozy! They also had amazing recommendations for our nearby needs. We will definitely be booking another stay in the future. I can't say enough good things about Rachel, Tim and our stay. Highly recommend this cottage if you're looking for a beautiful, serene time!

We are building a new addition to our Family/Friends Camp a mile away from Louis’s property and we needed a place to stay during a renovation week. Louis provided us a wonderful chalet on a small lake just 1 mile from our camp. There is literally no where to rent in this beautiful but remote area of Quebec- so grateful to have Louis’s chalet.

Lovely and spacious. All we needed to feel at home for a week.

Michelle’s place was exactly as advertised. It was a really cute little bungalow behind the main house with some nice amenities inside like homemade granola and coffee/tea. There was also a small patio for sitting outside. The bathroom is indeed in the main house, but it was a short distance and didn’t feel intrusive in the house. Overall well worth the money and a short drive from downtown Ottawa. Thanks very much!

Nice place, highly recommend to each other.

I needed a quiet place in the wood to spend a few days contemplating and thinking. This gorgeous, peaceful place was absolutely perfect. I spent each day in the shade of the solarium, reading, writing in my journal, watching the dragonflies dance their aerial ballet. I spent each evening eating toasted marshmallows by a small bonfire all to myself. I settled for the night with the chalet's windows open, letting in the cool night breeze. I cooked on the barbecue. The drinking water taps and tanks were at easy reach (the owners' well water is delicious!), and the outhouse was clean and comfortable. It all made for an experience as nice and quiet and fun as camping, but without the drudgery and rough sleep. I will come back.

Always has the best time in this cottage. My parents celebrated their wedding anniversary for a quick weekend getaway and could not stop praising the place and their experience. Fishing by the dock was insane. Will always recommend this place to everyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

A beautiful experience in the woods. Just what you need to help reset and enjoy everything nature has to offer. Just remember to turn left before the marker on Maps and there will be a circular sign indicating the lane, if you take the next left you’ll have a 4-wheeler road experience 😆
