Long Term Stay in the country Not for Sissies

Must love chickens. This is a little house that we built for our son in 2016. It is next door to our house where we rent a room on Airbnb (Close to Town but in the Country). This is strictly for longer term, researchers or folks wanting to get to know the area. Welcome are people who love Belize and all its quirks. Unwelcome are people who want to try to make money from Belizeans or sit in the house and complain about the insects, rain, culture, etc. Sorry but true. Good references required.

Beautiful private home located approx. 17 miles outside Belize City on the George Price Highway. Located in a Belizean/American Site just outside of Hattieville Village. Close enough to everything yet far enough for privacy and security. Fully air conditioned, hot and cold water, wifi, private fenced yard for parking, full kitchen etc. There is a full-time caretaker on site who looks after your safety and well being. Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Our spacious and safe enclosed yard is family-friendly. We are 2 - 5 minutes away from supermarkets, gas stations, banks, restaurants, churches, fire station and a health center. The local transportation also passes by frequently so you can move easily around Ladyville & to Belize City. The international airport is also 10 minutes away. Located near some tourist attractions such as The Baboon Sanctuary and Altun Ha Maya Ruin.

Great little place to stay next to the airport. Perfect for 1 night to stay before our flight. No touristy things to do in the area but got good food and wifi at the home was great. The apartment was super clean. Kelsey was on site and drove us to get dinner one night and to the nearby brewery and to the airport for our flight home. She was so nice and accommodating!

We were a part of 3 so a couple stayed in the unit that takes up part of the ground floor of the main house (though is a completely separated space with separate entrance) and a single person stayed in the small, separate building. The first had a full kitchen, separated from the area with a couch, TV, bed, access to the private bathroom, and AC unit by a door to help keep the sleeping space cooler when the AC is on. The second unit had a water dispenser that dispenses cold water, a microwave, a coffee maker, & some dishes in the same room as the couch, TV, bed, access to the private bathroom, and AC unit. We found the AC units in both units not super powerful, but they do cool the sleeping spaces down to a comfortable level given a few hours. We never saw Melva, but she was super responsive & helpful via messages within AirBnB and a young man, maybe her son, checked us in and answered all our questions. There is an amazing local place to eat, Maggie’s, only a block away.

Great place to stay, felt right at home. The restaurant next door is top shelf and Elmore responded like of we knew each other for a long time. The bus literally comes at your doorstep to head to the city although the schedule is kinda dodgy.

The house was so spacious and beautiful! Surrounding is beyond peaceful and beautiful. Download Waze and it’ll help. Also remembering how to drive in. The first drive in feels confusing but you get the hang of it. The pictures of the house is spot on. Highly recommend for a beautiful peaceful home to sit on the veranda and sip your coffee.

This house reflected all the things that stand out about Blue Creek. The house on top of a hill, with a steep driveway to get there, signature of Blue Creek; the cozy and squeaky clean house, bordering between homely and luxurious; and the dazzling view overlooking the entrance to the town and the fields below. Mario was very responsive and accommodating, and took initiative to anticipate and provide any additional information we might need. Our entire family loved it, including our 5 and 3 year old who had a blast exploring the yard and checking out the “gem”stones by the cliff side. Overall, a very lovely stay that we’ll not be forgetting!
