Airbnb.org is a nonprofit organization that partners with other nonprofits to provide people with emergency housing in times of crisis.
Through our Open Homes and Frontline stays initiatives, we’ve worked with communities to help people in times of need since 2012. Airbnb.org builds upon these efforts in order to help even more people.,
Airbnb.org is an independent organization with an independent board of directors, but Airbnb covers its operating costs so that community donations go even further to support people in times of crisis.
Airbnb.org is an approved, tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to organizations with 501(c)(3) status may be tax deductible.,
You can support Airbnb.org by hosting or donating. Hosts may choose to host Airbnb.org stays for free or donate a percentage of each payout. These Hosts have an Airbnb.org supporter badge on their profiles to recognize their contributions and help spread the word to our community.
Anyone with an entire home or apartment to offer can host emergency stays for people in times of crisis through Airbnb.org. In some locations, shared rooms and private rooms are also eligible for the program. This is dependent on advice from local authorities related to the spread of COVID-19.
The listings available on the site are as diverse as the Hosts who list them. Find out more about home types to see how to describe your space.
Like all Hosts on Airbnb, Hosts offering emergency stays through Airbnb.org must meet our hospitality standards, which include accurately representing your listing and availability, as well as providing a safe, secure, and clean space for guests. All Hosts and guests are required to uphold Airbnb’s community standards.
