Walking out of the residential neighborhood, you will find Okaminato Shrine, famous for its nanjamonja, and a promenade overlooking the majestic Onaga River. A little further on, there is Ashiya Beach, Uomi Park with an observation deck overlooking the sea, and Ashiyakama no Sato with a Japanese garden. In addition, Ashiya-cho, an ancient port town, has restaurants where you can enjoy fresh seafood. When you come, we can tell you about recommended shops and highlights in the neighborhood. We and our hosts and two protected cats live on the ground floor and provide the second floor as an accommodation space (the first and second floors are separated by a private entrance). This is a 2 storey single family home in a quiet town. We a family of 3 (many more if you count our beloved bird, Haru, & plants!), 90 year old grandfather, mother & daughter. We have a room on the 2nd floor available for lodging. High speed internet/WIFI is available all around the house. There is space available in the car port for 1 more vehicle although JR's Akama station is only a 10 minute walk from the house. We can also pick you up &/or take you to & from this station if you ask us!
