There are no buildings as far as the eye can see, and you can enjoy the sound of the river, the singing of the birds, and a sense of unity with nature. The water is also spring water (the water quality has been tested and is drinkable). Depending on the season, some people occasionally come to enjoy the river or head to Kappa Falls (150 m from the inn), passing by the river next to the inn. If the weather is good, you can also enjoy a BBQ or campfire with the food you bring (we may ask you to refrain from doing so depending on the season and weather). (Please be careful when handling fire.) We renovated a 160-year-old traditional house in 2023. The total site is 700 tsubo (2300 m ²), and the building is 170 m ², making it very spacious. While it is an 8-minute drive to Kumamoto Castle, it is a cottage where you can relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. The garden is full of trees and flowers, including a large camphor tree that has been there for over 160 years, black pines, Japanese maples, and bamboo forests, so you can enjoy the trees and flowers in all seasons. The host lives in the adjacent building, so you can feel at home. We renovated a vacant house in the Okiha shopping district where Kitahara Hakushu's family home is located, and created a single-family home where you can try out moving from accommodation to living (trial living). The house has been renovated with plenty of natural wood to make it comfortable. The furniture is made with the full cooperation of Hiromatsu Moku, and you can experience lovely furniture. It is both an inn and a home where you can live as if you were blending into the city while retaining the nostalgic atmosphere of a Showa-era house. In the Japanese-style room, we have a Tanabata decoration for the summer only. Guests can write their wishes on a strip of paper and display them.
