Holiday rentals with a fireplace in North Uist

We had an amazing family trip during the Easter break 2025, stayed at Ian’s property Old Police House at Uig. Such a beautiful location, great view throughout the day.. stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our time. There plenty of hikes and amazing things to do near the property. The Rha falls, Duntulm castle, Rubiha view point hike was also about 20mins from here by car. Ian was a kind and considerate host, was super responsive at all times.

What a great cottage for our family of 5. The location was outstanding. Easy walk to/from restaurants and shops. Quiet street with easy parking. The location is amazing if you plan to explore the Isle of Skye. You can easily go north or south to hit all of the highlights the Isle of Skye has to offer. We also recommend a visit to Raasay! Penny’s Cottage is outstanding. Adorably decorated and no detail missed. You feel relaxed and at home the moment you enter. We loved the wood burning stove. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean. Bedding was very comfortable. Many coat hooks in the entry too which was great for hanging our coats and lining up shoes (3 kids). The home is fully equipped with everything you need for a perfect holiday. We happened to meet Sarah too. She’s a joy! We are thrilled we were lucky enough to stay at Penny’s Cottage.

As mentioned before, Iain was immediately available when there was an issue with the checkin, helping us out just perfectly and from then on we experienced an undisturbed vacation time — sometimes friendly dog visits from next door and star-gazing moments from the bed included, so everything was splendid. :-)

Incredible stay here! The home was lovely, the views were gorgeous, the location was perfect for all of the walks and stops we wanted to make on the island! Jenny was communicative and answered all of our questions promptly! We loved all the amenities and the beds were very comfortable. We loved every moment! Highly recommend! Thanks so much!

we had a great stay! Our hosts were really helpful, taking the luggage inside while I was unloading the car, and even helping me to fix a car issue I had! the house has a beautiful view, the kitchen is well equipped, and the beds are comfortable. for the children. there were also a lot of toys, books, and a high chair and travel cot. So they had everything they needed. We even received wine and cookies, which was very attentive. A small downside is the driveway, which is tricky to climb, being steep and with a bend as well as being paved with gravel. With our minivan I also had a flat tire going down the driveway, because I hit a shale rock on the side. We could park on the other side of the road after that, so if you don't feel confident going up, maybe you can ask if you can park there as well. all in all great experience!

Peaceful and private location with amazing views out full length windows. Extremely comfortable and well appointed accommodation. A beautiful experience.

The location was perfect. It’s quite hard to find a place if you don’t make reservations in advance (even in April) so keep that in mind. The place was lovely. And Fiona was very responsive.

We had a wonderful stay here. It’s a good base to explore Skye. There is lovely stream at the foot of the garden space and you can walk to the lock it reaches. The house is lovely, well put together, peaceful - just what you want from this sort of stay. Thanks to Nick for his proactive communication and kindness. Faye

Sarah’s apartment is perfectly located in Portree. Shops and everything you might need are just around the corner — the CO-OP supermarket, a pharmacy, and even great fish & chips places are all within walking distance. The apartment was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Whenever we had questions, Sarah responded quickly and was very helpful. The reserved parking space was a real bonus. It’s also the perfect base for exploring the Isle of Skye — places like the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and the Quiraing are just a short drive away. Prices on the Isle of Skye are generally quite high, so we found Sarah’s apartment to be fairly priced. We would definitely stay here again!

Great stay! We LOVED our stay at the Old Post Office. It was an extremely cozy space that we wish we could have stayed at forever. Thank you so much! I very highly recommend it to anyone!

Found it a great location as a base point for seeing Skye! Loved the view and being able to walk around by the water.

Had a fantastic stay over Hogmany. The flat was warm on arrival, which made all the difference. Lovely clean and comfy beds. Perfect central location, with plenty of bars and places to eat on your doorstep. Would highly recommend. Little gem in Portree!
