Cottage holiday rentals in North Shore

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We were traveling for work in Massachusetts and typically we stay at Marriott property. I checked Airbnb to find a place that was kid friendly and this popped up. It was a new listing with no reviews yet, and it ended up exceeding our expectations. This cute little cabin is right on the water. Although it is smaller for me, pure square footage perspective it’s a two bedroom one full bath with a loft that sleeps two kids so the way it was set up felt like plenty of space for us. It has kayaks and paddle boards. There’s a beach and there’s a community pool. There’s an exercise facility. It easily slept my wife and I plus two kids in a fun loft that they got to climb in and out of, and grandma that came to help us watch the kids. The staff at the resort were very friendly and easy to work with. It felt very safe and private. The AC worked well. The beds were very comfortable. Overall this is gem and we will be staying here again for sure.

Camille’s place is fantastic! Great location and it’s so clean and well decorated. Camille is so fast to communicate and is very accommodating. We’ve stayed many times and look forward to returning again.

It was exactly what my family was looking for. It was relaxing and private. It allowed us to not feel cramped like a hotel stay, but allowed us to cook and enjoy the relaxing day. If you have a small kid, the golf cart is a must!

We needed a nice little place to stay while we visited family and friends. This was perfect. Cute and convenient, plus lots of fun amenities like a clubhouse, ball courts, kayaks and the lake. We went off season, so the pool was closed and it was too cold to boat, but it was still fun. We enjoyed walking the community, playing ping-pong and driving the golf cart.

This place is truly magical! The accommodations are super comfy and cozy and the views spectacular. We stayed here with our close friends before our wedding and had such a special time.

My family and I loved Skye's place. It was very private with a great view of the river and a nice sunset. Lots of different sea birds including a family of geese that had just hatched. Skye's place was very well equipped with all the little conveniences we would normally supply ourselves from coffee and creamer to ice in the freezer. The location was perfect for us, because the focus of our trip was shopping. Less than ten minutes from the outlet stores We would definitely stay there again when in the area.

Beautiful home on a lovely property. We felt right at home and wish we could have stayed longer. It was an incredible space and we look forward to returning.

Cozy, comfy cottage on a beautiful barrier island. Steve was a perfect host, friendly and responsive.

We stayed at this property for 6 weeks with our dog and loved it. The neighborhood is gorgeous, walkable, and has the perfect beach for pup play. Owners are on-site, friendly, and quick to respond. The carriage house was very clean and as beautiful as pictured. We would certainly stay here again.

We were lucky enough to have a very extended stay at this lovely little bungalow! The house is so sweet! The layout is easy, the rooms are comfortably furnished, and the floors are beautiful, and there is an incredible library of books. The house is full of natural light, and nestled in a little private spot. There is lovely landscaping in the front yard, and the back yard is magical. The pool is amazing, and you feel like you are in your own little peaceful world here. The house is an easy walk to all of the things that make Rockport such a cool town. And, you can hear the ocean at night from the yard! Trent and Cassie are the best hosts! Kind, responsive, and mellow. We loved everything about our stay! We will be back. ( :

We had a terrific long weekend stay at Ana's lake house. The view of the lake is unbeatable, and it was fun to take the kayaks out on the water. We also enjoyed the variety of games and puzzles in the house, and short drive (<10m) to Canobie Lake Park. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and Ana was a communicative host. Would definitely recommend this Airbnb!

Another great stay at this place! It’s been consistently a great spot for us. Perfect for a walk to beach or into town. We love it and will definitely be back.

The property is tranquil and private but near convenient stores and food options. The cottage is so cute and quaint and was perfect for our stay with our dog. The art and small touches in the cottage are very lovely. This location is fantastic for accessing the beaches and harbors of York area.

Larry's place was beautiful. There was a great view of the inlet from both downstairs and upstairs. It's within walking distance to downtown Portsmouth, which is great because parking can be tricky in town. But we had a long day driving so we just enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and relaxing. Having a bedroom with living room upstairs AND downstairs was perfect as it afforded my daughter and I each our own space. The only problem was we didn't have more than one night to stay!

We had a great time at Flip Flop and would recommend. It is so close to the beach and the welcome book had great restaurant recommendations. The Beach Plums clam chowder was especially good. The drive to Portsmouth or Rye is just 12 minutes or so. So much to do in the city for first timers! We were doing family research in the area and it was a lovely way to spend time together. Our great grandfather was a shoaler so we were surprised to look out on a clear day and see the Isles of Shoals. Thank you Carrie for your responsiveness!

We had the perfect stay! The house was perfect for our toddler to feel comfortable playing both inside and outside. The location was great and easily accessible to downtown. Gordon was also such a gracious host and offered flexible check in and check out times to better accommodate our travel plans. We would absolutely stay here again!

This Airbnb is an absolute hidden gem! It is a peaceful spot surrounded by nature in an convenient location. Inside, it's cozy and feels just like home. It’s very clean, the bed is extremely comfortable, and it’s very quiet. The spacious outdoor area is a dream, offering so many spots to sit with loved ones right by the water, from the fire pit to the dock and deck. The photos don't even begin to capture its beauty. We made lifelong memories in the backyard. The surrounding towns are packed with natural beauty and history, there is so much to do and so many lobster rolls to be eaten (I probably gained a few pounds exploring all the delicious food in Portsmouth). Andrew was an incredibly responsive and helpful host, full of good recs and making the whole experience seamless. The check out process was especially easy compared to some of my recent Airbnb’s, it was really nice being able to check out of an without having to do a laundry list of chores first 😅

Absolutely adorable little cottage! Well designed for efficiency and super cute decor. Beds were comfy and a/c was cool. Loved the location and how quiet and peaceful it was. Colby was a great host and easy to reach. Super find for us!

This cottage was perfect for my husband and I who visited Plum Island for a quick three night getaway. The weather was cold and rainy but given the location, we were a 5-10 minute drive to shops and restaurants. Despite the weather, a short walk to the beach was also possible and what a sight to see with the rough waves! Inside, the gas stove added to the charm of this cottage, making it all the more cozy and romantic! We were able to have a brief campfire (some wood included but we purchased more) during our last night. All in all, it was a delightful stay and we look forward to returning!!

Spent a peaceful fall weekend with my family at this beautiful lakefront cottage. We spent most of our time out on the dock or on the screened-in porch. Fully stocked kitchen and comfortable rooms made us feel at home. Rebecca was a fantastic host - easy to communicate with, organized and very welcoming. Thanks for a five star stay!

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was exactly as described. The space was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. We appreciated all of the supplies in the bathroom , kitchen, and laundry. Very easy to get into Boston, and surrounding towns. The patio space was peaceful and we enjoyed seeing all the birds and bunnies. This is a great location for visiting Merrimack. We had an easy time navigating to graduation. Thank you for a fabulous stay!
