Kyomachiya Private Rental "Takasegawa Shichijo" is an accommodation facility that has been fully renovated from a 115-year-old kyomachiya. The kyomachiya, which forms the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been redesigned as a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation performance, while retaining the original structure, so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay during Kyoto's unique hot and humid summers and harshly cold winters. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed to resemble a "roji" (*the garden that leads to the tea room). There is also a sofa in the hallway where you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time watching the illuminated tsubo garden. There are two bedrooms on the second floor: a Japanese-style room with two single beds and a Western-style room with two single beds. If there are 5 or more guests, we will set up a futon in the Japanese-style room on the ground floor for you to use as a bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and tableware so you can prepare simple meals.

There is antique stained glass, washi paper lamps designed by Isamu Noguchi, and the master bedroom has a Simmons mattress and Muji bedding. The bedding in the tatami room was specially prepared with thicker mattresses based on feedback from previous guests. We hope this will allow you to rest more comfortably and enjoy a pleasant stay. Every detail is intended to make guests feel the warmth and peace of mind of being in their own home, and to quietly experience the unique atmosphere of Kyoto.

This is a renovated Kyomachi house near Gojo-zaka. A 100-year-old Kyomachi house has been transformed into a guest house where you can enjoy the atmosphere of the good old days. It is a luxurious natural material renovation that uses diatomaceous earth with deodorizing and humidity regulating effects, and unpolluted materials such as hinoki cypress and cedar, with attention to detail in the finish. The whole ceiling is covered with cypress, and the pillars, frames, and baseboards are also made of cypress, creating a space filled with the comfort of real natural materials and the scent of cypress. It is located in the Kiyomizu-dera Temple area, about 6 minutes on foot from Exit 4 of Kiyomizu-Gojō Station on the Keihan Line, near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, one of Kyoto's most famous tourist destinations. I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. This is a newly renovated old Japanese house, a middle-class residence built in 1929 and renovated in 2017. It is a legal accommodation permitted by the city of Osaka. Located in the southern part of Osaka, a very quiet residential area. 10 minutes away from the nearest subway station, Kishinosato. It is easy to reach Namba, Umeda by subway, KIX and Koyasan by Nankai Railway. The 7-11 convenience store is one minute away. The Sento public bath is also very close to my house.

The house is in a quiet, traditional area of Nara with smooth access to the station and main sightseeing spots. You’ll have 2 guest rooms upstairs with a toilet and washbasin. The shower room is on the first floor. Each room has a lock for your privacy. There are 3 futon beds and 1 double bed. Meals are available if reserved 2 days in advance: sukiyaki dinner (6,500 JPY/person) breakfast (1500JPY/person) I also run a cozy café nearby, closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!
