Holiday rentals with a kayak in Muskegon County

Kristi’s Airbnb was so clean and welcoming. Beautiful lakefront spot and my husband & I felt we didn’t even need to leave during our getaway because we had so much fun just being there! I would recommend this spot to anyone!

Kathy did an amazing job renovating this property, and we really appreciated all of her personal and special touches, such as the handmade pottery dishes in the kitchen and decorative touches around the house. We are a very crafty family and really appreciated her artistry. It was a very comfortable stay all around, the beds were super comfortable, towels fluffy, and every kitchen amenity we could possibly need was provided. The view from the house is amazing, and it’s a great location on the lake, just a short drive from Montague. We had only wished there was a fire pit next to the house, and not just down at the lake as there were several people in our party who are not able to travel up and down the stairs due to knee issues. Also, if you are a light sleeper I would recommend the upstairs bedrooms, you can hear every footstep upstairs from the basement bedrooms. All in all, Cathy is an excellent host, the house very comfortable and convenient, and we absolutely recommend.

We planned a special getaway near the Grand Rapids area to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, as it is where they first lived when they got married. Since they now live on a lake, we wanted something similar—and this place was absolutely perfect! The accommodations were outstanding. The kitchen was fully stocked, and there were so many activities to enjoy, including board games, lawn games, pool, ping pong, foosball, and air hockey in the garage. If you're looking for a peaceful, lakefront retreat with endless amenities, this is the spot! The home features 2 king beds, 3 queen beds, 18 bunk beds, and even a hot tub. The spacious decks, which span the full width of the house on each level, provided plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the view of the lake. Sara, the host, was phenomenal—her communication was prompt and clear, making the entire experience seamless. If you’re considering this property, don’t hesitate—just book it!

Heidi’s place is adorable! It was perfect for our family! It’s so charming and close to everything! Heidi was very responsive and the restaurant suggestions are great!

We enjoyed our stay at this historic little cottage. Very quaint! We were in the area to explore the many bike trails nearby so did not spend a ton of time at the cottage. We did enjoy the amazing view of the lake! Adriana was a great host. Answered all of our questions and the place was very clean. We really enjoyed exploring the area and would highly recommend the nearby Pizza Mill for excellent pizza, the Arboreal Inn in Spring Lake (30 mins away) for a fancy dinner, and the Country Dairy Farm Store and Restaurant in New Era for amazing food and ice cream! Montague-Hart rail trail was one of the best trails we have been on — highly recommend! Thanks for a great stay!

Super responsive host, very helpful. The house worked great for our group. it was walking distance to a local diner, which we went to a few times. Good space for the kids to play, everything was clean. the only challenging part for us was the little stairs, but everyone figured it out. the host even put up baby gates for us, which was amazing. thanks for a great stay!

Our stay at Sarah's place was fantastic. Location in the high dunes overlooking Lake Michigan was phenomenal! Decor & vibe of the house was beach themed and we felt right at home from the moment we walked through the door. We took full advantage of expansive outside eating options eating meals & doing happy hour overlooking the shore line. She had numerous fun water activity options including kayaks, float, & beach chairs. We were in the water every day taking advantage of the fresh water (we are used to salt water since we live near an ocean). Amenities in the house were top notch with every possible kitchen utensil you would ever need. We were in town for a family wedding & had 6 family members who had flown in from Boston & LA which was an easy drive from GRR. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out & feel comfortable yet excellent hang out spaces so we could be together as a family. We would love to come back & we highly recommend Sarah's home as she was an awesome host!

We liked Zachary's place so much that we stayed twice! This is a great place to stay, with plenty of parking and space for the group to spread out. We appreciate the quick communication and willingness to make the trip pleasant by keeping the grass mowed and household supplies stocked. Highly recommend!

Overall it was a lovely little place that worked out for our last minute planning. We noticed something peculiar with the neighbors dock. Apparently the local geese have made it their water closet. This place has a sweet disposition and we would love to come back with more planning to enjoy the neighborhood more.

This beautiful A-frame was a 10/10!! We would absolutely recommend to stay here. They thought of every detail, from the hot tub, to the paddle boards, the fire pit and smores kit, game room, they had everything! This place can be enjoyed by a small family looking for some rest and relaxation, or fill it up with kids to be enjoyed in the summertime. We loved it, and Todd and Heidi were very responsive and made sure we had the ultimate stay. They even extended our check out to ensure we had a relaxing morning. Thank you for everything!

Mary's property is absolutely gorgeous! The property has a main home with a dog - even though we love dogs and wanted to say hello, they were very respectful and kept the dog around the main area, so as not to bother us. They have various cabins on the property, and ours was right on the water, near the shed with all the games and supplies, and the fire pit. There are grills, and Mary includes supplies in case you forgot something - like sunscreen or bug spray. There's also charcoal, grilling utensils, and wood for a fire. You have access to their MASSIVE collection of their non-motorized water activities - including rafts, tubes, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, row boat, and more. The cabin is perfect - there's an outdoor screened in area, plenty of seating space, a full kitchen with the basics for cooking, and all the appliances in our building were this cute vintage style and light blue color. The beds were comfortable, the place was very clean, and it exceeded expectations. The lake is stunning, and the water was surprisingly pleasant for a mid-September visit. We came for my birthday and were absolutely in love with this property. Thank you so much for a fantastic visit. We hope to come back next year!!

We need an escape from the city- something just a little off the grid. Perfect little retreat! Cottage had everything we needed (even a round pizza dish) and didnt have the things we wanted to avoid (TV). We were hoping to catch the fall foliage but leaves were still green. But the cottage was right there under all of the trees with a perfect view of the lake.

We will definitely stay here again, it was the perfect location for my sons MTB. But also a great place to just go too, the lake was gorgeous, the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Mary was there if we needed anything. We can't wait to come back.

Mary is an awesome host who goes above and beyond, on call for anything that comes up. The cabin was old school retro in style but updated - no spider webs or chintz here - the kitchen and bathrooms were spotless. I can't think of a kitchen appliance that was missing - there was a toaster, a blender, ice cube trays and even a rice cooker.

Arthur's lake cottage was the perfect getaway for making memories with the grandparents. From the moment we arrived, Arthur made us feel like old friends. The home, though older, was well-equipped with modern appliances, including a dishwasher, washer, and dryer. Everything was spotless, and the beds and furniture were incredibly comfortable. The cottage offered stunning views and excellent amenities. We enjoyed days on the water with the canoe, rowboat, and kayaks, while our child had a blast on the swings. The sandy beach with chairs was ideal for relaxing. Evenings were spent fishing and watching breathtaking sunsets. The location is also convenient—just a short drive to town for groceries or a treat at the local ice cream shop. Highly recommend for a relaxing and memorable stay!

We had a wonderful time and the house was comfortable with great amenities and a beautiful view. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and more! Loved the extra fridge downstairs for easy access to our drinks while enjoying the massive 2 level decking. Sunsets were spectacular. We sure appreciated the sand area connected to the deck that kept the littles entertained and within eyeshot. We were surprised at how short a walk it was to the expansive beautiful beaches on either side of the house. And special thanks to the wagon left for us to haul our stuff for our day at those beaches! We golfed at a couple of great courses just minutes away. Highly recommend to any family looking for a perfect lakefront beach house that will make memories for a lifetime. We hope to come back again and thank Dawn for being a perfect host

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It’s a peaceful and relaxing location, perfect for a family retreat. The interior was beautiful, with stylish furniture, and everything we needed was provided. It was also very clean and well-maintained. The host was fantastic, professional, kind, and incredibly responsive. Although the weather didn’t allow us to use the kayaks and bikes, the host quickly provided them, along with an air pump when requested. Truly a great experience with a wonderful host!
