Cabin holiday rentals in Mount Vernon

We originally booked 2 nights but found out after booking the funeral date we had planned got moved a day earlier. The host was very understanding and approved our reservation changes. The cabin was super cute and cozy! Had all the amenities listed. The hot tub was clean and a nice relaxation after a long day of activities. We enjoyed a fire and a movie before bed. I would definitely book again! Thank you for allowing us to make memories and for comfort your cabin brought us.

Shawnee Forest Cabins were a great place to stay after hiking the area all day. The cabin was cozy, easy to find, and very clean upon our arrival. The hosts were very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. If you utilize the hot tub, make sure you look up and appreciate all the stars!!!

We enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin, especially the hot tub. The bed and pillow could have been more comfortable, and we had trouble getting the HVAC working properly. It's a tight space but has what is needed, and the location is close to the Outpost store and the Garden of the Gods.

We loved our stay here, more spacious than it looks on the outside. Hot tub worked great, firepit was stocked and the inside was pristine. The host is very communicative and helpful, the little shop right next door has great ice cream! Only a couple mins from Garden of the Gods’ Indian Point & Observation Trail.

We had a lovely stay for a quick getaway to celebrate a birthday. The cabin was cozy and very clean and we loved the fire pit, free firewood, and especially the hot tub. We can't wait to go back!

This is a perfect place to stay for a “better than” home away from home experience. My daughter and I loved it so much that I am going to price building a cabin style home just like this one on the new piece of land I bought! Highly recommend anyone interested in staying in this area to choose Shawnee Forest Cabins! We will be back soon!

Kimberly with Evolve made our stay wonderful. She was available and responsive for our every need. Not to mention, she was extremely gracious! The stay at the cabin was comfortable, private, and beautiful. The sound of all the bird calls and the buzz of the humming birds in the morning is the BEST with a cup of coffee. It was a cabin experience that our family with remember and treasure!

My family and I had to come in for a quick weekend trip. With 4 kids and 2 dogs it was a very affordable place to stay. My 6 year old found it fun to make the upstairs floors squeak, so once we had him stay downstairs, it was a very quiet and comfortable stay! It was quick and easy to access the highway, yet very quiet! We had to come and go frequently throughout the weekend. The host made sure it was warm for us when we got there and gave us the option for a late checkout. It was very nice.

FWIW, I was able to get my small car (Chevy Sonic) through most of the road/driveway. I couldn't for the last ~200 yards, which is fine b/c the description in the listing made me prepare to carry my stuff longer than that.

The cabin was bigger and more beautiful than you could possibly imagine from the pictures. The fish in the lake are ample and me and my friends had a wonderful time catching them. Animals were not an issue and we felt safe in the area. Plentiful amenities and more than enough towels for a group of 5 people showering every day. The hostess we met at check in was incredibly kind and friendly. She helped us feel welcome and at home. The cabin itself feels well constructed and roomy, space was very much not an issue. The kitchen worked great and really allowed me to explore my inner chef and we were provided with lots of charcoal and firewood for outside cooking. I would HIGHLY recommend this listing for anybody considering staying at this cabin and my memories made here will be unforgettable.

I came for the weekend after completed a stressful project for work. I needed some quiet alone time, and this was just the place for that. Aside from having oversized cookware for 1 person (ie large electric skillet for 2 scrambled eggs) everything was great! Cozy, serene, great view of the woods from the deck, and quiet. I will likely return someday!

I love the cabin. The beds aren't that great comfort wise but everything else was perfect.

Linda’s was perfect! We loved the house itself and the stocked pond! Beautiful views and her son, who lives across the street, was very easy to get in touch with. The house is pretty far away from grocery stores- a few Dollar Generals, so I would recommend stopping at a grocery store on the way to the house, or packing a cooler full of stuff. We had a wonderful time, and we will definitely be coming back.

Stayed here for a winter work retreat with 12 people. Communication was good, had some Internet challenges upon arrival but the owner resolved that very quickly! It’s an old hunting lodge, so if you don’t mind being one with nature and need loads of space, this is your place! The listing is very accurate, so read carefully- lots of stink bugs and japanese beatles. Thank you for a great stay, it met our needs (and beds are very comfortable)!

Loved our stay! We drove down from Chicago with friends to hike in Garden of the Gods over a three-day weekend and this was the perfect spot. Easy access to the forest and a great place to unwind at the end of the day. Everything about the cabin shows thoughtfulness and concern for the guests. We particularly enjoyed the fire pit in the evening and watching birds at the feeder in the morning. We hope to be back!
