'BEACHED' - Step Off The Deck And Onto The Sand

JulieRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
From the moment we walked in the door at “Beached” we knew we were going to have a great week. As soon as we opened the blinds, the most amazing view of the entire coastline of Wallaroo greeted us. The home was well stocked with cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, and most importantly, plenty of wine glasses. It had everything we needed and the location was just stunning. The description is absolutely spot on. Step off of the timber deck straight onto the sand, which we did many times during our stay. If we weren’t out walking along the beautiful sandy beach, we were sitting on the deck, with a coffee, or, maybe a glass of wine or gin and tonic in hand, watching the ferry come and go, boats out fishing, and amazing, and at times, spectacular sunsets. There is a super little café a 5 minute walk from Beached which serves great coffee. Carole is a fantastic host and made sure our check in was smooth and easy, with comprehensive instructions. We will definitely be back.

Salty Smiles

JakeRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We came here for a family holiday at the end of autumn and were blown away by the home and the views from it. A beautiful, modern and large home, with amazing views of the ocean over the sand dunes. A short drive to all surrounding suburbs make this place perfect for a beach, fishing or golf holiday (or all of the above). Nicole was such a great host, we intend on being back in the future. A perfect family holiday 😀

Sunset Villa

MinhRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Adam’s place was large enough for three families to stay comfortably and the open plan layout allowed us to spend some quality time together and have some great conversations and play competitive board games every night . The house was just as described and clean and tidy throughout . Clear instructions on wifi and check in and checkout made it stress free. Overlooking the beach provided a relaxing peaceful time to reflect and just a short stroll to the port Hughes tavern for a bite or the jetty for some fishing . A fantastic experienced enhanced by the quality of the accomodation

Cornerstone Cottage - peaceful stay with spa bath.

AlexRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had an awesome weekend at Cornerstone Cottage. Full of character and really comfortable, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into making it a great spot to relax. The bed was super comfy and the corner spa was perfect after a day out exploring. Evenings were spent kicked back on the couch with a movie, and mornings started with coffee from the espresso machine before heading to the beach and local cafes. We scored great weather, but even if it hadn’t been so good, the cottage would still be perfect for a cosy weekend in. Even though it shares a block with the main house, it felt really private with its own entrance and outdoor area. We also said a quick hello to the friendly pup next door at the fence. Tim was a great host — we didn’t need to contact him during our stay, but the check-in instructions, guidebook and tips were super handy. He was also really easy to deal with when we booked and quick to respond.

Your guide to Moonta Bay

All About Moonta Bay

Moonta Bay is a popular coastal town in South Australia. A two-hour drive north-west of the capital Adelaide and located on the shores of Spencer Gulf on the Yorke Peninsula, the town boasts sandy beaches and coves, clear blue waters, and the town’s distinctive L-shaped jetty with an attached swimming enclosure, which is suitable for swimmers of all ages.

Moonta has a rich mining history, and it has earned the town national heritage status. You can uncover its famous mining past on one of the Moonta Mines Walking Trails or inside the Moonta Mines Museum. The town is also well known for its famous Cornish pasties — a remnant of the town’s mining past. You will be able to sample the local delight in any one of the town's bakeries. Moonta Bay also makes up part of the Yorke Peninsula’s famous “Walk the Yorke” — a 500 kilometres trail that travels through towns along the coast, taking in the region’s spectacular scenery.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Moonta Bay

Moonta Bay is a great place to visit all year round, but if there was a best time to go it would be in the summer months from November to February, when the days are filled with warm sunshine, perfect for enjoying all the water activities on offer. March and April are also great months to visit, when the weather is milder than in the summer but still pleasantly warm. The town also plays host to country music concerts, usually in July and August to raise money for the local Women's and Children's Hospital. The weather at this time can be cooler, so remember to bring layers. Whenever you visit, you will find a range of accommodations in Moonta Bay.
