Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Mookgophong/Modimolle

Accommodation is amazing, 6 private en-suite chalets with a central boma area that has 3 separate kitchens with everything you could need to cook (there is a restaurant level prep kitchen). Pool is amazing but be okay with nature being around you, and do the game drives offered by Josh, so worth it! Sundowners by the hippo pool are a must and nightly fires lit for you are such a perk. This place is amazing, it’s huge and brilliant for a big family get away. Privacy and entertainment all in one, and the game on the farm is plentiful and so beautiful. The photos do not do this justice, the place will blow you away when you arrive. But bypass Airbnb and contact the host directly on their website, responsive and will save you some bucks.

Our arrival was unfortunately delayed by a couple of hours due to a flat tyre, but the host was incredibly understanding and friendly. They even came out to the gate to greet us, which was so thoughtful! The property itself is fantastic, there is a huge play and braai area. We also really appreciated the very well-stocked kitchen, which even included plastic spoons and cups specifically for little ones. The entire place felt very private and peaceful, making for a truly relaxing stay.

Had a lovely time at the bookwoodbuilt house/helderfontein private game farm! I enjoyed a boys weekend away here and couldn’t have asked for more. Enjoyed the pool table available, the driving trails and walking trails - there’s beautiful wild life just beyond your gate! Planning on visiting again soon

Wow, wow, wow, Alex and Sean have THE most beautiful game farm. Loved the dam in front of the glamping spot. Great fishing and the canoe made it a lot easier to get to those "sweet spots". There are many different animal species on the farm. The first morning we woke up to a herd of Rooi Hartebeest with a tiny baby and an Impala with a tiny baby, this was seen through the huge window in the bedroom. To walk on the farm is magical with a diverse range of vegetation and trees, it's so lush and green with forested areas and beautiful mountains. What's so cool is that the animals don't run away when you drive or walk past them. The lapa area is so huge and spacious, lots of space for 8 people. Very comfy rooms. Absolutely loved our stay and will definitely call on the hosts awesome hospitality again.

An absolutely fantastic getaway! The Bungalow exceeded all expectations and provided the perfect escape from the city. The natural hot spring was undoubtedly the highlight—soaking in the 50°C mineral-rich water under the stars was an unforgettable experience. The property is beautifully secluded, offering complete privacy with stunning riverfront views, mountain scenery, and an abundance of birdlife. It’s the ideal place to relax, disconnect, and enjoy nature at its finest. The bungalow itself has a unique rustic Mediterranean-African charm, blending effortlessly with the natural surroundings. The braai and pizza oven were great additions, making outdoor cooking a pleasure. We also appreciated the fast WiFi, which worked even when there were temporary power trips (to clarify—there was no load shedding during our stay). A standout experience was the magical three-course meal Schalk arranged for us atop one of the nearby mountains.

Beautiful place to stay. Private and peaceful. Amazing to watch the animals whilst having your morning coffee. Didn’t use the fire pit but I’m sure it would make for a wonderful evening sipping wine and watching the sunset.

The House is big and clean and the Caretaker is excellent. The Estate’s golf course is also great. The only let down was that we couldn’t use the pool as the water was green and the WiFi was not available.

We enjoyed staying at the Bush Willow Cottage so much so that we plan on going back for our next holiday! We felt so relaxed and peaceful. We went with our 5 year old and an infant. There was something for everyone to do! My husband enjoyed the braai, the bush, the animals roaming, and the walks. I enjoyed the pool and the deep seated bath tub 😃, and my toddler enjoyed finding and playing with all the different insects. And also the sandpit! I think this was our top find on Airbnb!!
