Waterfront holiday rentals in Monterey County

Nice modern place right on the beach! Appreciated having larger tv in the living room and lots of kitchen supplies to cook with. Staff were very responsive with my requests and it was a nice, quiet getaway.

We have stayed at many beach hotels and apartments and this may have been the best. Beautiful view of the beach, which is pretty quiet. And you can walk on the beach for a couple of hours in either direction. Also really enjoyed the location in Watsonville, which is the strawberry capital of the US. And nice to have Monterey and Santa Cruz nearby. Communicaiton with Pajaro Dunes was very good and helpful. Look forward to coming back.

Absolutely loved this location. Quiet and peaceful, with the most amazing view. The bathroom is huge with an amazing whirlpool tub. It was extremely clean and felt so private. Fantastic place to spend a romantic weekend. We were not asked to do any cleaning, and checkout was extremely fast and simple. I would love to come again, and would recommend it to anyone.

Ann's place is awesome for exploring Monterey and the surrounding areas. It was great not having to worry about paying to park downtown. Everything you'd want to do is within walking distance, from the beaches to shopping and dining to the Aquarium. Ann was very accommodating and allowed for an earlier check in which was very much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!!

Amazing views and a peaceful location—waking up to the ocean and wildlife was unforgettable. This was our hub for exploring Carmel-by-the-Sea and Big Sur. A short 30-40 minute drive to Big Sur for hikes, and just 10 mins to downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea for great dinners. There’s also a handy general store at the bottom of the hill. A couple of notes: This is one of 4 units on the property. While listed as “entire home,” there’s a unit attached at the rear with a door that opens directly into your space through a hallway (for my wife’s peace of mind, we kept our bedroom door locked at night). Another unit is above, and one more is detached in front. That said, everyone keeps to themselves, and interaction is minimal besides maneuvering past their parked cars in the driveway. Also, screenshot the address and key code—cell service drops near the hill and the turnoff into the property is easy to miss in the dark the first time around. Thanks for hosting us, Emily & Mason! We loved it.

Dean’s place was great in terms of location, size and privacy. We’re familiar with pacific grove/monterey area so we knew what we were looking for. The house has (2) bathrooms which is great and appreciated as (1) bathroom abnb in the area are commonplace but with more than 3 people it’s great to have 2. House is located directly across from ocean walking path. You cross street and you are on the water-10 min walk to aquarium, cannery row, 10 min walk the other direction and you’re at lovers point restaurant. 10 min walk to downtown PG for many restaurants. Clean house, would stay there again for sure. Wife and I were there this time with 17yo nephew, 14yo and 12 yo sons. Plenty of space.

excellent location a few minutes away from the beach. house is extremely well maintained and the master bathroom was renovated recently and is in excellent condition. neighborhood is a very peaceful residential area and perfect for those with families or looking for a quieter get away.

Megan’s home is an absolute gem. Do not hesitate to book this accommodation. You will be delighted you did. The views, in particular are second to none!

Mimi and Alan’s is a wonderful home base in Monterey/Pacific Grove. This was a last minute trip for us & we really lucked out that it was available. The home itself is beautiful, with everything you need in walking distance. We walked to the aquarium, the grocery store, the cute restaurants up the street, & the trail along the ocean to Lover’s Point - so many seals and otters visible along the way! The only little blip that we had, & it’s no one’s fault, is that the kitchen breaker had tripped before our arrival. This wasn’t obvious to us as we hadn’t used anything in the kitchen, except the microwave which remained unaffected. It wasn’t until late in the afternoon the following day that my husband decided to investigate because the fridge was not cold. We did end up having to throw away some of our groceries that we bought upon arrival. If helpful, there are green lights on the outlets that let you know they’re working & breaker box info is thoughtfully included in the house guide.

We had a wonderful week stay at the White House. The location is just perfect and we loved being across from the beach. We highly commend!

We loved our stay at Pajaro Dunes! The pictures really don’t do it justice. We stayed during the week, so it was peaceful, quiet, and incredibly relaxing with no disruptions. The easy beach access was a highlight (FYI: they rent out fire pits, which is a nice touch). The location is also great for visiting nearby cities. As mentioned in the listing, be sure to bring your own shampoo and soap, as those aren’t provided. The kitchen had a few seasoning bottles that I believe were left behind by previous guests, which was a small bonus. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely consider booking again!

Stayed with my husband and parents here for our wedding week that was happening in the area. The place was plenty spacious for 4 people! Much better than a hotel room would’ve been. Gave us quality time cooking in the kitchen and hanging out in the living room, enjoying the hottub & heated pool and the beach! The ocean view from the dining table and the front porch is STUNNING!! The place is nice, well kept, and has everything you need! Any small things that popped up, Patti was helpful and fixed right away! Would definitely stay here again!!

Exactly the kind of views and comfort as we had expected for our family weekend getaway. Beautiful sunsets right from the condo enjoying your evening dinner or cup of coffee. Clean place with the right amenities to help our family feel at home away from home.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. It’s absolutely perfect and has everything you could possibly need. We were especially delighted to find chopsticks, which totally made our day since we were planning to have ramen and thought we’d have to use forks! The view from the condo is stunning, like something out of a movie, and it was such a treat to have easy access to the beach. Watching the sunset was one of the highlights of our trip. The host was very responsive and provided clear, helpful instructions for everything, from check-in and check-out to using the washer. The check-in process with the gate attendant was smooth and made us feel extra secure. Everything was super clean and thoughtfully prepared. We stayed at several Airbnbs along Route 1, and this one was undoubtedly the best. Highly recommend!

Exactly what my family needed. Close access to the beach. We had beautiful weather. My family even played pickle ball. We played games in the condo. My son flew in from Georgia he’s in the army. We celebrated my 50th Birthday. We definitely will be back to vacation. Thank you for having us.

This was our third time at Shorebirds but first time in this unit. It was a great decision to try this place. We always come for the peaceful atmosphere and easy beach access. It was a great bonus to stay in a condo that felt freshly updated but cost less than our prior rental. This condo is managed by the resort so it felt like checking into a hotel. I liked the experience and all logistics were easy. Check out was an hour later than usual, 12pm, which was a nice bonus. Another perk and I think a personal touch from the owner was a selection of wine in the unit. I had to ask about it and was told that one bottle was complimentary with our stay. Wine bottles were from various wine producing countries/regions of the world including Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Spain, Italy, France, California. This touch was very unique and much appreciated. The unit itself is very comfortable, including the pull out couch in the living room. Bathroom has a bidet! We will undoubtedly come back.
