“The Sky House was absolutely magical. The host was responsive to communication, and provided us with lots of useful information on finding our way and also catering and food options before arrival. The view was divine, and the home was perfect for two people - waking up and looking out the bedroom window to the ocean was gorgeous. We utilised the host's recommendation for breakfast catering through Hannaford and Sachs and awaiting us on arrival was a beautiful hamper of local produce and food - we were so pleased we utilised this option. It is only a 2 minute drive to Snelling's Beach and after exploring the whole Island, we felt we chose the most picturesque spot to stay with the best beaches nearby in Western River Cove, Snellings Beach and Stokes Bay. I would recommend stocking up on produce prior to arrival, and even on the SA mainland as food options were limited to fairly basic local supermarket produce unless you are around come market time or eat out every day. We dined at the Hannaford and Sachs shearing shed on recommendation from our host which was a beautiful meal and wonderful service. Overall an excellent stay and we would definitely stay again!”
Still Windy is a self-contained retreat for couples on the stunning north coast of Kangaroo Island. Situated on a 100 ha bush block less than 10 mins from spectacular Snelling Beach, the unique house takes full advantage of of the surrounding bush, farmland and ocean views. The house is a stylish boutique retreat with little touches of luxury for your comfort and enjoyment. Still Windy is perfect anytime of year for summer holidays, clear autumn days, wild wintry escapes and spring wildflowers.
“We had a fabulous stay at Still Windy in November. We loved our time on Kangaroo Island and saw so much wildlife - Kangaroos, Tammar wallabies, echidnas, koalas, possums, a Heath goanna, lizards, dolphins off Snellings Beach, seals - both at Admirals arch and off Ellen Point, sea-lions, wedge-tailed eagles, superb fairy-wrens, crimson rosellas and lots of other birds we didn’t manage to identify! We had hired a 4WD which was great on the gravel roads and enjoyed exploring the western and middle parts of the island from the property. The island is so open, with sparse population and so much beautiful scenery, we enjoyed the chance to unplug and enjoy the wilderness with all the comforts of home in Robyn’s property. Cooking breakfast and dinner with that view is highly enjoyable and the kitchen is well equipped. Loved the little touches like candles, torches and binoculars! We had some slightly unseasonably cool weather but this didn’t limit our enjoyment and the pot belly stove was great for extra warmth in the evenings!”
Completed in June 2018, this beach house is perfect for up to 2 families looking for a beachside escape. The West House consists of 3 bedrooms (2 queen beds & a trio bunk - single over double with a single trundle) with a large open plan kitchen, lounge and dining. West house is adjoining East House via a shared laundry. Only a short walk to the stunning Snellings Beach. Middle River Beach House has magnificent panoramic views of the ocean over Snelling's and Middle River meeting the sea.
“Middle River Beach House is an excellent base to explore Kangaroo Island. The house is located only a short walk from the beach, and we spent many hours exploring rock pools finding crabs and starfish. During our stay, we were lucky enough to spot wallabies, kangaroos, an echidna, and black cockatoos. The house was spotlessly clean and included all the amenities we needed, plus some nice little extras such as board games and DVDs to make our stay more enjoyable. Communication with Nicole was easy and fast. We will be back. Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your house with us.”
