Terrific accommodation, real atmosphere. Underfloor heating in the bathroom even. Great place to stay for skiing or biking the mountains behind. Beautifully restored main house. Worth booking dinner at the property. Stately breakfast, in style.

Great place to stay whilst visiting mt hutt! The house is everything is states and super cosy. Robyn was very helpful, would definitely stay again :)

Perfect location to get away from the city life! It has an English feel to it, filled with lots of character! We were greeted by two very friendly dogs. I'd love to stay again in winter so I can use the huge log burner!

This home is in a beautiful and serene setting. It was about 1.5h from Christchurch airport and was the perfect antidote to the craziness of flying. At night, the only thing we could hear was the breeze and the gentle rain. I’d love to stay for a week. Annie was incredibly friendly and the welcome basket with homemade granola was tops. The basket also included potato chips made from the potatoes grown on the property! The kitchen was amazingly well stocked and my kid got to try Milo for the first time.

fantastic place to unwind and relax! homely bach feel, garden was really big and fenced which was great! everything you need to rest and recharge! great spot to visit!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The space was immaculately clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful. Perfect location with epic views across to Mt Hutt. Would definitely book again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

As a university professor on sabbatical, the month I spent at Drew and Sally’s was exactly what I needed. A beautiful, peaceful, quiet place to write and the perfect place to be refreshed too. I wish I could give it 10 stars. More than anything else, my parents and I appreciated their kindness and warm hospitality. We were welcomed as though we were dear friends and were given many fresh eggs, produce from the garden, tales of adventure (Sally climbed Denali and Drew mountaineered and protected people in Antarctica), and walks with Koa, the friendliest and sweetest dog ever. I loved seeing the stars and Milky Way at night, the cute town of Geraldine with the Talbot Forest Walk, the biking/walking trail right by Drew and Sally’s house, the nearby Peel Forest and beach at Timaru, and great day trips to Lake Tekapo, Mt. Cook, and where LOTR filmed Edoras. I only stayed a month but I feel homesick and hope to return someday. We’ll stay in touch, Drew and Sally! Love from Laurie

Kay's place was exactly what we were looking for, and described from the get go. We would not hesitate to book again and stay at this quant 3 bedroom house. The fireplace was well received and used.

Granny at Smylies reception was super friendly, helped us a lot and we had a great communication with her. House is well equipped and the feeling is very cosy. Strongly recommended!

I would highly recommend staying at Chas’s beautiful place if you are looking for somewhere beautiful & relaxing to get away from the rat race. The spectacular views were amazing

What an incredible place to stay in Methven! The home is large and has everything you could need. We brought our infant, and Franz was so accommodating by providing us with pack-n-play, high chair, toys. Such a comfortable home with many interesting vintage items and decorations. Such great value too!

This is the second time we have stayed here. Loved it just as much as the first time. Great hosts and such a peaceful relaxing trip. Will be back again next year !
