Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Melres

This place is an absolute gem. It is one of the nicest places we found in Portugal. The house is located in a small vineyard. Beds were comfortable. There’s a wood fired barbeque a great outdoor covered area and a beautiful infinity pool. Every morning we had fresh bread delivered to our doorstep. We picked lemons and oranges from around the house and had the host deliver us fruit. It was beautiful and quiet. The only negative is that we enjoy the place so much we did not visit any of the surrounding areas😊. If we had any questions, the host was response almost immediately with suggestions for places to go restaurants, markets. We had an excellent day and would return and stay there again anytime. It is definitely a 10 out of 10 definitely highly recommended.

We cannot say enough about how enjoyable, peaceful, and satisfying our stay was in Fontelo at Marina’s house! The house feels spacious and open, with everything you need to be right at home. The views are incredible and the pool and outdoor spaces are functional and enjoyable. I wish I could go back and have another cup of coffee outside, watching the sun rise over the vineyard hills. A 15-minute drive to the Douro River makes tasting the local wines and Port very accessible — just make sure to check the route before following your GPS or you may end up on a dirt farm road :-) Marina is friendly and responsive, always willing to help with questions or suggestions for where to shop and eat. We are already looking forward to our return!

From the moment we arrived , Alexandra welcomed our family and made us at home. The establishment is incredibly designed, unbelievable views and smells of fresh flowers. Such a lovely experience. Marissa was so welcoming and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed the countless recommendations such as the local bakery (San Miguel was our favorite), and the 516 Suspension Bridge. The AirBnb was cozy and so lovely that we really felt at ease and comfortable. We will definitely keep it on the list for future travel!

We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed more than one night. The view from the patio areas is beautiful and the house is charming. The house itself isn't fancy but it's a great price and great location. We would have loved to utilize the pool more but it was not very sunny the day we were there.

On our trip to Portugal, the Douro Valley was the highlight of the trip from the storybook views to the spread of freshly picked cherries, homemade preserves and wine awaiting our arrival to the cleanliness and comforts of a beautiful home perched high up on the vineyard terraced hills. The game room was an incredible surprise - there are seven eighties arcade games along with a ping pong table, a foosball table and an infinity game with over 150 board games built into the table. The hospitality was second to none. Gabrella, the property manager, was one step ahead of us ensuring that we had everything we needed to make our stays one of the most memorable. Sephi, the owner, is one of the most generous people we have ever met. His passion for region and willingness to offer his time to you is amazing. We spent one morning touring his winery, learning the old way of making wine and enjoying the fruits of his labor – an extraordinary experience not a just another Air BnB.

The location was so nice, and it was so convenient because the entrance was with a passcode. The host's response came quickly, and the view that was slightly visible out the window was so nice.

Abi and Regina are exceptional hosts who made our stay memorable. We especially enjoyed the tour of the animation museum by Abi which was fascinating The property is very lovely, the flower and vegetable gardens are incredible and the whole ambience is very relaxing. A perfect place to stay for several days. We thoroughly recommend staying here and look forward to returning

There were three of us sharing the property and it was so nice that I almost wanted to move in permanently! Nice terrace and very tasteful decor in quiet area. It was a short taxi ride from the airport, good proximity to the grocery store and a very nice pastry shop. Great choice if you like to stay a little secluded from the most visited tourist trails and discover different areas. We walked almost everywhere with the exception of some cheap taxi rides. 10/10 residents :)

The apartment was spotlessly clean, with modern and newly furnished interiors. The location was excellent — close to everything, and there was a great supermarket just around the corner. The internet was super fast, which was a big plus. It would have been even better with an elevator, but hey, you’re in the land of hills after all! :) All in all, a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

Great place to stay and having three complete private bedrooms is highly beneficial when traveling with family. We hope to return for a longer trip in the future to soak in the sun and visit the Douro Valley. Very accessible location.

Felt like living in the middle of Porto. Close to lots of bars and restaurants. Nice apartment and very at home feel. We were there when Portugal won euro finals so very noisy from the bars outside, but thats to be expected! Lovely apartment

The apartment is beautiful, beautiful view, well decorated, clean, with all household utensils, impeccable bed linen, it was well worth staying there.

Excellent host, Rey responsive and always went above and beyond to make our stay in the city wonderful.

We stayed for more than a week at Manuela's place and had a great time. Manuela and her son Daniel were very welcoming from the check-in till then end of the stay (thanks for the delicious port wine!). The house is better than the pictures - cozy living room, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and lovely garden ... with a hot tub! Porto old city is 20mins drive, Aveiro is 40mins and Douro Valley is around 1.20mins from the place. There is a lovely restaurant by the river around 500mts away. Steep down and uphill walk but amazing views and very good traditional Portugese food. Good to have own transport (you can park inside or on the street) but there is a bus stop just few feet away from the house (we didn't use it as we had our own car). Overall a lovely stay. Lovely property which was quiet and secluded. Facilities and aircon excellent also. If I have any criticism there could have been better communication re fixtures and appliances, bins, recycling, etc. The instruction to access the keys was excellent though not all of us are familiar with electronic gates! The water pressure is not great for showering despite taking it in turns and the toaster tripped the fuse to the whole kitchen on arrival which was interesting trying to find the fuse board to put it right though Rodrigo did respond to our call quickly. On balance a lovely place and would consider visiting again.

We are very happy with the accommodation! From the warm welcome to the attention to detail, everything contributed to a comfortable and peaceful stay. The space is welcoming, larger than we thought, well cared for and with a wonderful view, ideal for relaxing after a day full of adventures. An experience we certainly want to repeat! 🏡✨

Absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to go back!!! Adrianne was great dropping by each morning to have a little tidy in the kitchen and make breakfast. The view of the Douro valley from poolside and the rooms was incredible. Can’t say enough good things about our stay!

We spent 10 days in the country house and had such a lovely stay. Vania made us feel welcome and provided us with all we needed for our baby. The house is charming, authentic yet clean and equipped with all you need. The location has a lot to offer on a day trip and transport to Porto and the airport is easy. This experience is beyond what can be expected from the average Airbnb, have already recommended to friends and family and we hope to come back :-)

We spent our holiday with Bruno with 9 people. It was a wonderful time. The accommodation is as shown in the photos and Bruno is rightly a top host. He always had tips ready for us and the communication was very pleasant. All in all highly recommended!
