Place was great. Came to visit my son who wasnt able to come home for Thanksgiving. Ended up cooking several meals for his soccer team. Kitchen was so spacious. Very comfortable. Enjoyed my visit!

Very charming old house that's been updated right across a very cool little city park. The beds were comfortable and the linens etc. were clean and new. Nice place to stay that was exactly as advertised

Akerhuset welcomed us into a peaceful, loving space. It was amazing that a house actually gave all of us sisters the safety to let go of our busy lives and come together to refresh and renew our bonds. This may sound rather ethereal, but this house is a wonderful space, from the cleanliness to the beautiful appointments, to the neighborhood - all of this created an atmosphere of caring and comfort. The bedrooms are good sized, and we loved that each room had its own 1/2 or full bath. The kitchen is great with plenty of dishes. We loved being able to walk to town. We also loved the porch in the early morning and in the evening listening to the birds and to each other's dreams. This actually turned into a retreat for us and the house played a great part in allowing that to happen. Thank you so much for this beautiful space.

This is my second time staying here and I’m sure it won’t be my last. It really exceeds expectations. There is so much room and everything is clean and comfortable. Karen is such a great host. She is friendly, attentive, and quick to respond. Looking forward to the next time we stay.

The stairs are the only drawback, once you opened the door to the loft you stepped back in time. It was mesmerizing, we could only imagine the stories behind so many of the pieces that we will never know. I would like to know more about the opera house itself and also if further restoration of the location is planned. This place was immaculately clean and well kept. 6 adults and we didn't bump into each other, we slept well and our daughter and husband and 2 kids came over for a bit and still plenty of room to visit and hang out in the living room. Just a wonderful experience all around. Thank you for the work you have done to this loft and offering it to the public. We loved our stay, so comfy. Literally one of the very best places we have ever stayed.

We had a wonderful stay! We love old houses and this one was so enjoyable. It has character yet still has all the modern amenities that are needed. Starla was extremely friendly and helpful. She made sure we had everything we needed and even went over and above. It was a lovely and peaceful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Sunshine Cottage and Tonya is an outstanding host. The house is darling and there were so many thoughtful details, that weren’t evident in pictures, so it exceed our expectations. Everything was squeaky clean and the kitchen was extremely well stocked. The location is excellent, as you can walk either downtown or to the park/pavilion. I highly recommend Sunshine Cottage and hope we can stay again!
