Holiday houses in Matsukawa, Shimoina District

Fantastic place to stay to appreciate the beauty of Mt Fuji. We loved being able to relax in the hot tub after a cold day of exploring and to wake up to the view of Mt Fuji out the window. Location was fantastic, easy to get to via rental car and close to pagoda.

This house was so charming, and the area is absolutely gorgeous! It was a great experience of traditional countryside living with a few modern amenities thrown in (the high tech bathroom and toilets were appreciated!). A word to the wise though: what the listing says about cold weather is no joke! We stayed in mid-November and ended up catching the first couple below-freezing nights of the season, and while the host warned us the house would be chilly with only kerosene heating, we were unprepared for the discovery that the house’s power couldn’t handle keeping heaters on in more than two rooms at a time without blowing the breakers! Aside from the bathroom and one bedroom we kept heated, it was so cold we could see our breath indoors for the entire duration of our stay! The house is wonderful but I would recommend thinking of this as more akin to glamping than, say, a fully outfitted cottage. If the weather is nice, I can’t imagine a more charming place to be!

Very nice house, 2 minutes walk by the lake about 10 minutes from the station early, the house is very spacious, we only used the space of the building for three of us.The homeowner was attentive and thoughtful and unfortunately such a nice house we only stayed for one night

We had pleasant stay at Chika's place. It was very accessible as it was near the station. The place is very clean and spacious, with complete amenities.

Kim’s house was a standout of our trip to Japan. The location was spectacular - the views over the lake and to Mt Fuji, especially the sunrise were highlights as was the warm and cozy lounge in the evenings. The large house had everything and it was great to be able to be able to spread out over the two floors - there was plenty of room for whole family and the beds were super comfortable. If you’re after an airbnb with an exceptional host, then this is it.

Great to meet Stef during the stay in lake Kawaguchi. He can offer pickup service from Lake Kawaguchi to the dome, and also private tour in the local area. He is a nice, talkative and takes full responsibilities to my family during our stay The dome is clean, beautiful and easily accessible by car. Thank you for the hospitality towards my family and look forward to see you in the future

WOW. A true 5 star Airbnb. The place looks better than the pictures, views of Mt Fuji from the living room. The place is cozy, aesthetic and completely stocked with amenities! They even had a small breakfast set up which was amazing (and drip coffee!) . The space is big with multiple cozy beds and impeccably clean. Very close to lake motosu. This place was worth every penny and I will be back!!!

Host was really helpful. Location was easily accessible from the train station and only one stop from Fuji Q theme park. View of mt Fuji was stunning. Our only complaint is that the lounge was really uncomfortable.
