La historia explica que es donde vivió el Prior de la Cartoixa d'Escaladei hasta que fue quemada durante la Desamortización de Mendizábal. Se dice que tenía las paredes repletas de monedas de oro provenientes de La Cartoixa y que fueron encontradas por unos albañiles a finales del s.XX.
