Eva's Roost is a rustic zen-style cottage on the property of Center For Lost Arts in Cobden. Nestled in the hillside the roost gives a sense of oneness with nature. No curtains allow a complete experience of nature: forest, pond, stars, moonrise, sunrise, birds & animals. Paul is the architect of everything you see. Bonnie offers Mindful Living sessions & facilitates individual/group retreats at the main house. Together they offer Eva's Roost for you to enjoy - a cozy cabin all your own.
“The cabin was a perfect retreat for our small family. We had everything we needed to be cozy and comfortable while we unplugged and enjoyed a few days taking in the natural beauty around us. Out our windows we were able to observe lots of birds and other creatures. It was magical! Bonnie and Paul were attentive and helped us whenever needed and otherwise we were left to enjoy ourselves.”

“The cabin is well equipped with everything you need to make your stay like home. We stay in several vacation rentals a year. This cabin had the most equipped kitchen I have had the pleasure of using. It was nice to not have internet, TV or even a cell signal. I needed the time offline. The cabin is central to Giant City park, in the Shawnee National Forest wine country. My first stay in Southern Illinois was great. I would recommend this cabin for a couple of any age. Don and Hannah are great hosts.”

“Maura’s place was so cute and very clean. My kids absolutely loved the loft area. They had their own fans, lamps, and extra blankets if needed. Absolutely everything was sparkling clean! The house came with movies, games, kitchen necessities plus extras like coffee, snacks, etc., the bathroom was fully stocked with plenty of towels, soaps, toiletries, and even a first aid kit. Every bed was comfortable including the blankets and pillows. The place was absolutely cozy! We loved being so close together in the tiny home. The porch was my favorite place. My son loved the hammock and my daughter and I played checkers on the table. In the evening, I was able to sit on the porch while my kids and dog played just below. The lights that are hung up around the porch gives it the perfect ambiance at night. The grill and fire pit was right there by the porch making everything easy to get to and use. There was wood, charcoal, and lighter fluid already there for us to use. We spent a whole day down on the dock. My husband and son fished while my daughter and I had fun on the Lilly pad. Pack light going down there because coming up is quite the workout. It didn’t stop us from going though. The next day we drove less than five miles to Ferne Clyffe and hiked a few different trails. We had a great time. Maura was very good about responding quickly for any questions. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much Maura!!!”
