Hotel holiday rentals in Madre de Dios

I really enjoyed my time in Calca, largely thanks to David and his peaceful and welcoming guesthouse. David makes all his guests feel at home immediately. It's no surprise that several of my fellow guests were repeat vistors. The room I stayed in exceeded my expectations, very comfortable, spacious, great value for money (even a TV with Netflix if you want it!). The communal garden is a lovely place to spend time reading and relaxing. In addition, the guesthouse is located at the start of some lovely hiking trails, which David will be more than happy to help you navigate, if that's your thing. All in all, a great stay and highly recommended.

For the price the place is great. The directions to get there are a little off, but its a cheap place to stay for a quick night.

Our room was cozy, clean, and basic. We were in the top unit so had the best view, although anyone could walk up to the rooftop terrace to see the 360 degree view. Ollantaytambo is incredibly scenic and interesting and well worth a day or two of exploration. Edison's location was very convenient. The breakfast was good (eggs, bananas, rolls, margarine, jam, coffee, tea, & juice) and we enjoyed our conversations with Edison. This hostal only has six or seven units and we enjoyed the smaller scale of things along with the central garden space. For advice, try out Apu Veronica restaurant, which Edison recommended to us. Easily the most spectacular meal of our trip and very reasonably priced.

Justa's place was exactly what the description stated. The staff were very kind and helpfull. They gave us great suggestions for restaurants. They also called and set up a taxi for us to take back to Cusco. This was my favorite place to stay in the 3 weeks I traveled Peru.

We booked one of the larger rooms that came with an ensuite kitchen and 2 separate bedrooms, and it was amazing! Firstly the property itself was wonderful, with gardens and pebble paths lining your way to the rooms. Location-wise you literally have to enter the train station onto the platform to access the hotel, so catching your early train to Machu Picchu will be a breeze! Breakfast was great, and there were complimentary facilities such as sauna and mountain bikes. All in all, loved this place and would definitely come back again!

Lucho wasn’t just a host, he was our friend. This guy worked night and day to make our excursions happen! Did not expect that for such a cheap price! As well, the macaw that lives at the lodge is quite the character!

Everything was amazing! The two brothers that run the place are extremely nice and accommodating. “Mi casa es tu casa” is their moto and they made us feel it. The food was also incredibly good and a highlight of our stay. Overnight they made us a fire in the pit and we watched the stars. Highly recommend and we hope to return.

What a pleasure it was for us to stay with Carlos and Norma for our time in Urubamba. If you are thinking it's a bit out of the way, it's absolutely worth it. Their home is beautiful and their presence is warm. We did our best with minimal Spanish on our side and lots of Goog Translate, but we made it work. They are generous and hospitable hosts. We would absolutely return.

Armando is a local guide who knows everything from the Tambopata National Reserve. The price you pay is all-in, meaning there is a pick-up organized at the airport by Armando himself, the food prepared by the chef is delicious (vegetarian option available), the daily activities (lake visits, night walks, piranhas fishing, spotting caymans and all other wild animals, etc) and drop-off at airport at the end of your stay. Every evening we got to eat with Armando and got to know the local life a bit more. We weren’t in the lodge that was indicated on the pictures but in a similar one. I think they regroup travelers with the same schedule to optimize transport/logistics. Armando was our guide for just the two of us and I can highly recommend you pass through him to discover the Madre de Dios region.

This place is a hidden gem!!! The views are priceless, this place is IG worthy from the rooms , infinity pool over looking the mountains, an amazing rainbow 🌈 it is family run business and swing over the mountains, this place is give you a bang for your buck. We were a group of 6 , they offered to drive us to Ollantambo train station to catch our it train to Machu Pichu . If you’re going to Machu Pichu this place is a must.

Just beautiful. The hotel is small and very relaxing. Everyone working there was so kind and helpful. It was a very chill and a nice break from hiking and exploring the sacred valley. It was a nice personal experience with the staff. Food was great. Breakfast probably could have had better choices but we made it work, we rented the two penthouses so we had AC which was needed. WiFi worked great. If you are looking for an Amazonian experience with modern conveniences, this is a great option! Also on our last day the taxi driver was late and we were freaking out that we’d miss our flight and the hotel manager kindly drove us! We are so very grateful.

Don’t let the lack of reviews put you off, they have very few bookings via AirBNB apparently. Our stay was perfect. We came for 4 nights at the end of our 3 week trip travelling around Peru and it was the highlight of our holiday. Rogelio, Claudia and all the staff are fantastic. They arranged transport from the airport (included!) and activities before we even arrived. The restaurant is amazing, we had planned to eat out for a few meals but after the first meal at the hotel decided to have all our meals at the hotel as everything was so delicious. The waiting / bar staff are lovely and so helpful! There’s drinking water always available for free which is so appreciated. The room is comfortable and stylish (highly recommend the AC rooms) and the pool is so nice to have to relax and cool down in after a morning excursion. The guides who work with the hotel are fantastic and very knowledgable. Everything is very reasonably priced whilst having the feel of somewhere much more expensive.

Habitacìon is very clean and tidy with modern decorations and in harmony with the Sacred Valley. View of the phenomenal Sacred Valley and a super relaxing and quiet place to spend lounging days. Pisina overlooking the valley. Jean Paul is super friendly and super responsive in helping with any questions; very cozy.

The hotel has air conditioning and a decent breakfast on the top floor. It’s a 15-20 minute walk from the main square. There’s some good empanada spots near by.

This place is amazing if you want a quaint, quiet, personable, cozy slice of nature away from the city. All the plants, so pretty. They have a couple dogs and puppies, a few green parrots that meander the place throughout the day. Hammocks to relax in, a beautiful part of the river with a clean beach, and delicious meals cooked throughout the day. The rooms are airy and very open to the trees and natural light all around. The shower is only cold water but was welcome because of the hot weather that persisted during our trip in late September. They have trips to Tambopata that we didn’t do but the guides have good reviews and the people that went seemed to have enjoyed their time. The staff are sweet, caring, and communicative. This place was a breath of fresh air after running around Cusco, then Puerto Maldonado, staying at hostels and hotels. It was SO RELAXING, wow. Take a car taxi out there, we got a cart taxi to take us but it’s like 2-3 miles and bumpy. Cheers, Leo

This place is a gem! We couldn't believe our luck in finding such a beautiful, spacious, and peaceful home for such a great price. I work remotely, so I spent a lot of time sitting on the couches and table while looking out the big windows to the green world outside. It had fast Internet and blissful air conditioning. I stayed with my husband and brother in law from Cusco. My sister-in-law and her husband stayed at a nearby hotel. They visit Puerto frequently, and they liked this place so much, I think they will now stay here whenever they are in town. Thank you for such a great vacation home!

This was an amazing place - super cute and in beautiful surroundings. You can sit outside of your room and take in the view of the old ruins, or have breakfast in a very intimate and beautifully set up inner courtyard.

Makasai was very kind and flexible with his directions and, the stay was very pleasant. My family felt comfortable there.

We enjoy stay! Grateful for Rene and his spouse. They made us feel at home and were very kind. Our daughter got sick while we were there and they accommodated us with 2 more nights so we could get her feeling better. Beautiful space right near the river and walkable to many places. Definitely recommend!

Definitely a great decision to stay in this house with beautiful views. The house is very large and through the windows of the rooms you only see nature, birds, butterflies, you breathe a lot of peace. The atmosphere is very quiet and cozy. Patricia was very kind at all times, always willing to help with whatever was needed. The house is located very close to the center of Urubamba and transportation is very cheap. Inside the house, you can use the kitchen and other facilities whenever you want. Everything was great and I have very good memories of this beautiful place. I'm sure I'll be back.

They were very nice and even made us a to go lunch since we were leaving so early in the morning.
