An angled book-lined shelf in the library is situated behind handcrafted Japanese parchment paper walls; artful patterns channel a decidedly art-deco vibe. From the open-concept living room, sliding doors retract to reveal seamless access to the vast terrace space. The gravity-defying infinity pool seemingly melts into the ocean beyond. A pair of loungers at the edge of the wooden deck offer the best seat on the property for watching the dramatically vivid sunset unfold over the Southern Atlantic; the crashing waves are your soundtrack. An excursion to Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital city, is a must—especially to indulge in one of the many steakhouses in Mercado del Puerto.
