Leafy tropical gardens frame ocean views—and screen the alfresco bathtub—at this breezy waterfront bungalow. The villa is laid out over 3 buildings, all tucked amid the trees along the water, and stone steps lead from the patio into the lagoon for private swimming access. Walk across the grounds to the beach at GoldenEye Resort to borrow a kayak, paddleboard, or snorkeling gear or have a drink.
Your holiday at this vacation rental includes nightly turndown, as well as housekeeper and butler service. Let your mind wander as you stretch out in the hammock or a lounger on the sunny terrace, or heat up the charcoal barbecue and serve fresh fare to family and friends at an alfresco table for 10. After dark, an Apple TV, Sonos sound system, and Wi-Fi are there to entertain.
Follow palm-shaded paths from one building to the next, and open the louvered shutters to fill the rooms with warm island breezes. The living area is simple yet stylish, with whitewashed stone walls, blond-wood ceilings, and a woven area rug as the backdrop to playfully printed cushions on the sofa. There’s also a kitchenette with a stove available.
Each of the 3 bedrooms is a honeymoon-worthy study in laid-back luxury. The primary, set in the same building as the living room, has a king bed; the other 2, set in their own buildings, have queen beds. All 3 bedrooms have private ensuite bathrooms, some with an outdoor shower or tub, and air conditioning.
While you can swim just off the villa’s stone terrace, you can also walk to the GoldenEye Resort beach to take a dip or borrow a kayak, stand-up paddleboard, or snorkeling equipment. Dine on Jamaican barbecue at the rum bar right on the beach or sit down to more local specialties in the open-air restaurant. If you like to explore, a stay in the Oracabessa area is close enough for a day trip to Ocho Rios and Dunn’s River Falls.
