The space
Bask in the glow of sunsets over the Bay of Naples at Villa Lika. Set in a quiet, private residential neighborhood near the beach at Massa Lubrense and a short drive from Sorrento, this four-bedroom Amalfi Coast vacation rental provides stunning views over the water and equally beautiful interiors. Whether you use the luxury property for a family holiday, as a base to explore this famous region with friends or as the backdrop for a romantic honeymoon, the relaxed living spaces and panoramas over the sea are sure to please.
Each of the villa’s three levels—accessible by stairs or the elevator—opens to an oceanfront terrace. On the ground floor, the terrace includes spacious sitting and dining areas, a row of lounge chairs and a saltwater swimming pool, plus an outdoor shower. An outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and pizza oven lets you try out local specialties in the comfort of your own home. For warmer evenings, the villa has air conditioning; if it gets chilly after the sun goes down, cozy up by the fireplace.
Large windows and white walls let the sea be the focal point inside Villa Lika, though vibrant patterned tile adds a playful pop of color underfoot. In the ground-floor great room, which opens to the terrace, a sleek sofa and chairs are grouped around the fireplace and television. Celadon-hued sculptures of fish and shells are carried over into a dining area that also features a driftwood-inspired branch chandelier. The fully equipped kitchen picks up the color in the countertops and has a practical prep or breakfast table with views of the water.
Three of the four bedrooms at Villa Lika have en-suite bathrooms: a primary suite with a king bed and jetted tub, a bedroom with a double bed and private terrace, and a bedroom with two twin beds that opens directly to the terrace. The fourth bedroom has two twin beds, shared access to a hall bathroom and direct terrace access. White walls and bedding have fresh appeal, and as in the rest of the house, colorful tile lends cheery personality.
Though it’s tempting to ensconce yourself in this seaside retreat, it’s worth at least strolling to the private beach club less than a quarter-mile away and following the path from the club to the restaurants and bars in Massa Lubrense. Spend an afternoon in Sorrento, 5 km away, or at Peter’s Beach, 6 km away. A drive to Positano, 28 km away, or Amalfi, 37 km away, will take you through memorable scenery. If you have time, take a day trip to Naples, 54 km away, or stop off in the city on your way to or from Naples International Airport, 58 km from the villa.
