The space
Treat yourself to a Robert Trent Jones II–designed golf course and a professionally designed luxury residence at Villa Essencia. This private villa on the grounds of the Reserva Conchal Resort is a Costa Rican vacation rental par excellence, where you can spend mornings on the links, afternoons on the beach and evenings with friends and family.
Leave your rental car in one of the villa’s two indoor parking spots and enjoy the tropical sunshine from a terrace with an infinity pool, loungers and a hammock overlooking the golf course and ocean. Heat up the barbecue for a meal at the al-fresco dining table as the sun sets, or unwind after teeing off with the Apple TV and Wi-Fi.
Designer Ann Du, a transplant from California to Costa Rica, gave the interiors of Villa Essencia a fresh, sophisticated look that’s still comfortable and inviting. Pale blue walls and an L-shaped layout connect the living room, fully equipped kitchen and dining room; playful patterns like a whimsical zebra print and bold stripes define each space.
The villa’s rooms can accommodate groups of ten on holiday together—or can be reserved for one couple on a honeymoon away from it all. There are two bedrooms with king beds and lounge areas, and one bedroom with two queen beds. All three bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and ocean views. An additional room contains a king bed and a balcony overlooking and expanse of forestry and ocean.
Guests of Villa Essencia are welcome to use the beach club at Reserva Conchal, one of the premier beach and golf resorts in the Guanacaste area, and can use the spa and golf course at extra cost. It’s a short drive to local-favorite Playa Brasilito and the quiet, palm-fringed Playa Conchal, as well as the incredible turtle nesting sites at Las Baulas National Marine Park.
