Hollywood is iconic! It's a "must see" at least once in your life. Great people watching but it gets very crowded as the day wears on. If you're into music, don't miss Amoeba Music on Hollywood Boulevard for a plethora of music genres (CDs, records, cassettes, etc.) They also have live performers occasionally. I would stay away from the "used" products, tho. Employees guaranteed my friend's used CDs were carefully checked, but the two used CDs that he purchased turned out to be damaged. He could not return within the limited return timeframe so they were trashed. El Capitan Theater, described as a "historic movie palace," is not to be missed. Owned by The Walt Disney Company, it does not disappoint. Frequently there are live stage shows and amazing exhibits relating to the current movie. The Wurlitzer organ adds to the Disney atmosphere. This theater is like no other. Thai Town is miles further east, but it is worth the drive if you like authentic Thai food. There many restaurants from which to choose. For a nice upscale place that serves good food, I recommend The Musso & Frank Grill. The place has been around for more than 100 years and has and is frequented by Hollywood's most famous. Reservations are highly recommended. Most days it opens at 5 p.m., but on Sundays it opens at 4 p.m. If you don't have a reservation, get to the front door early so you can get seated at the counter.

Skip the chaotic Walk of Fame and head to Musso & Frank Grill for a martini to experience real Golden Age history away from the costumed characters. For the best view of the Hollywood Sign without the Griffith crowds, drive up to the Lake Hollywood Park grassy area, which offers a perfectly centered photo op and a much calmer atmosphere.

Go check out the Hollywood walk of fame and look for your favorite stars. You can also take in a movie or go to the theater, Ripley's believe it or not or the wax museum.
