“This was a lovely guest house. Deb was right there when we needed her and knew right were we should go in town. Very clean and made us feel right at home. This made our Valentines Day special and we definitely would stay again.”

“What an unexpected delight of an AirBnB stay! I have stayed at over 50 AirBnBs totaling 600+ nights, and am also an AirBnB host - and this place was near the top of my list! Very comfy beds, extremely clean, quick responses to questions and handling service requests, well-stocked kitchen with decent cooking equipment (a rarity in my experience), plenty of towels, soap, essentials. It's obvious the owners take pride in this little house. It's not terribly close to the ocean (1-2 hr depending on the beach), but 45 min. from New Bern which is fun to explore. The town itself has a lot of history and friendly people. Would love to stay again!”
Aardvark Acres is a two story 1927 brick house in an established residential area once populated by wealthy tobacco growers. Kinston has some very good restaurants, and an emerging art scene. There are now some Covid 19 restrictions. At Aardvark Acres, we are paying special attentions to the "hand places": switches both wall and lamp, door jambs, arm rests, the entry keypad. We are sanitizing textiles that can't be easily laundered with UV light.
“The Red Room at Katherine’s place is perfect for the college student needing a place to stay for a few nights. The area is extremely quiet. Katherine has made sure to include everything needed from coffee to even extra toothbrushes and q tips that may have been forgotten. I will definitely be back if I am ever in the area!”
